The clear means they just have clear lenses instead of the "frosty" lenses your car has but they still use regular halogen light bulbs. BiX is short for BiXenon which means they use Xenon (in German speak) a.k.a. HID bulbs and use a projector to output the light. The Bi means the projector does both high and low beams with the use of an actuator for the cutoff. The BiX is a much more intense light output that is much brighter than a halogen bulb and is more controlled becuase of the projector. BiX are well worth the money in my opinion, not only for looks but very good functionality.

Halogen (Clear):

BiX:

The BiX will have what is known as a "cutoff" similar to this (I don't know what kind of car this is):

Yeah, I got married at 19... Looking back I should have waited, but no one could have told me that then, I was in LOVE! Either way, we had a good decade together, and I got two awesome kids out of it. It couldn't have been that bad, I decided to do it again

Thanks for the Bi-X vs. Clear write up, that helped a lot. Helped knowledge wise, not decision wise.

Mike i mean i have been with my girlfriend for 3 years on and off and the thought of married still scares me. idk how you did it, but congrats to you! personally i have clears with 6000k HID and they are a TON brighter then the bi-x. ill try to take a picture tonight of my car next to my friends car who has the bi-x, i clearly outshine his bi-x headlights in any weather condition. good luck with making your choice!

+1 on that, my friend just got bi-x in his jetta and the right side is higher and on a weird slant upward. it looks pretty stupid IMO.

I would like to see that picture because I had 6k HIDs in my clear headlights on my old C230 before installing BiX and the BiX were 10x better. Brighter doesn't always matter if it isn't putting all that light where you need it. I would take my BiX any day of the week over the halogen lights with an HID kit in them.

So it shines further up the side of the road you're driving on and doesn't blind people coming the other way. Both lights usually have the same cutoff design, it isn't just the right headlight. Euro spec BiX lights don't have the step-up as pronounced since they drive on different sides of the road in different countries in Europe.

Yeah I thought this was pretty common knowledge.

I think eventually you reach the point of diminishing returns. I know that when someone is coming towards me down a country road with stupidly bright lights it is very dangerous. All I really care about is the looks, and I like the white light

next is to stop being cheap and get the front and rear bumper repainted.

the 204's pretty much done. I don't want to mod it any more than how it is right now. didn't plan to powerchip it, but did it anyhow and changed the filters to K&N and it handles nicely for being stock. i just wish the front tires (PZERO) wears out faster so i can change them out (too noisy)

really, my pzeros are actually pretty quiet on mine. you going to get the michelin PS2? or the hankook like on the 203? thats what you have right, dont remember if that was you or not.

Might as well shell out and get the bumpers painted. You think of getting the 3M clear protect film put on? I'd do that after you get the bumpers painted.

I just got in an accident in a parking lot and now my passenger side rear quarter panel is all bent in and scratched, only thing lucky about it was that it was in a parking lot so it wasnt a high impact collison. I'm just waiting for her insurance to give me a check so I can get body work done at my friends shop. I'll probably get to pocket half of it since they'll give me a good discount.

no, the PZERO is very noisy. not talking about nero or rosso here. just gonna replace it with HTRZ-III matching the rears.

it's gonna be a $1k job (hood, front&rear bumper) that's why i'm putting it off so far....we'll see how long i can stand the crack on the front bumper from the accident that also broke one of my fog light mount.

clear film? nah...I don't like the line that goes across the hood and sides from it.

oh yeah i have the nero.

dang 1k for the job... too bad you're not here, I wouldve given you a real good deal from my friend. He did the front and rear bumper for 300. Probably would've charged you 600-700 for the hood and bumpers.

You figure out a way to fix the fog light mount? or do you just have to order another one?
