I blacked out the grill inside, and kept the outer ring chrome just to highlight the grill thought it would look good. I also added some rubberized coating to my handles to get away from the cheap plastic feeling. Didn't sleep till 5am :-D.
@JTB007 Will probably pick up the flat badge from the dealer they will sell it for $30.

Blackout looks good!
You can find a flat hood badge online or on ebay for like $10...I bought mine in a package with the black CL-Grille for like $180 or something, I can't remember it was so long ago, but I remember the individual hood badges were pretty cheap.

I picked up one today, I don't know... I'm so use to look at that star I miss it. It seems like of weird. Like its missing something as crazy as it sounds. I guess its something to get use to. Well when the grill was blackout and the star was there it did look out of place.
I'll take a shot in the morning and upload it I'll probably buy a badge from eBay or something that is darker. The one I have is a chrome one with the blue Benz writing on it from the dealer. The dude there gave me it for $15 since I'm there so often. Was the parts department manager that was helping me since they were so busy.

That looks good I was thinking this one from eBay, its more pricey by a bit but looks really good I like the dark look. The one I picked up from the dealer is too shiny took much chrome, it had a blue surround and mb logo in the middle. I'm currently blacking it out and attempting to preserve the pointed star in the middle.

So I purchased the flat hood badge today from the dealer, it looks okay, but too shiny, too much chrome and the blue doesn't blend into anything. So I decided it needed to either be gone and replaced with the ebay link posted in the previous post or black out portions of it. I must say I'm fairly happy with my outcome, I'll take a shot in the morning in brighter light on the vehicle.

Thanks. The block is there to get the jack out from under it. The way the car sits on the block is how it sits on the ground. Nothing left under there to rub.

There's only 5mm left to go on it. I have a 15mm on it now and have 20mm here as well, but I am waiting on slightly longer lug bolts. Hopefully they'll be hear Friday. I'll have to roll the fender at that point which I'd like to have done by this Saturday. I tested the 20mm and it puts the tire against the fender with a lil poke.
