Thanks CM208. Yeah I had to wait three and a half months for mine! Got it from MB of Melbourne. It was well worth the wait though.
What about you? Just as an aside, did you get much off RRP for yours cos they offered me what I thought was a good price and I didn't really shop around. With the kind of money we need to spend here in Australia for our Mercs we could all be easily driving Es / CLKs in the US!

BLAKE P: I like them too! They look much better in the flesh than they do in the catalogue. It was just fortunate that I saw them on a vehicle in a showroom the day I ordered the car as I probably wouldn't have go them otherwise.

mj50: THe DVD commands have a wider screen and slightly different layout to the CD based ones. THe DVD commands in Australia are different to the US in that the there is only a single DVD slot above the screen and not two behind it. Our screen does not flip forwards like the US ones do.

Regards

abcd, I got about $6500 off RRP. not sure I got a good price or not. I wasn't even gonna buy it on that day, just happened after I test drive it. Its a C180K Classic with sports package, metalic paint, sunroof and colour coded door handles.

Tell me about it!! the price we are paying in Aust is just way too much!! Driveaway price of a basic model C180K for almost USD $48000!!! IT IS JUST SO UNFAIR when compare to US!!! You can only blame it on LUXURY TAX!!!

So are you planning to mod your ride??

$48k USD for 1.8 liter blown? Geez...that is way overpriced! Kinda like in China, where is a C-Class is much more than here, yet the avg per capita income is much lower.

If you think you paid too much for yours, I paid S$154,000 for my C180K!!! That's about US$85,000... No thanks to the taxes to discourage ownership.

Yeah the taxes in Singapore are a killer aren't they. And after 5 years don't you have to pay them all over again just to keep your car on the road?

CM208: Na, no mods for me, not for the time being anyway. Been thinking about an avantgarde grille but that's about it. Thought about AMG alloys as well but with the $$ I already spent on the factory alloys that's hardly justifiable, not for a couple of years at least!

WHich dealer ship is yours coming from? I didn't know you could get colour coded door handles as an option. That's a big improvement over the black plastic handles. Looking forward to seeing pics!

Its 10 years. By then, you also have to pay additional yearly road tax (on top of the regular yearly road tax) so the ownership cost of cars beyond 10 years goes up... which makes sense for you to get a new one...

Hey everybody, brand new to the site. Figure I'd put up a few pics just to introduce myself. Picked up my 05 C230 K SS a couple months ago, haven't done much to it yet but that will change soon.

hello everyone! I bought my '05 C230 about 3 weeks ago. A friend recommended that I join this helpful forum. Hope later down the road, I can contribute to some advice. A few mods already done are flat emblem, Schaetz grille, and aluminum door pins. Not sure what do do next. Maybe tinting the windows???

Chrome OEM wheels? How did you get that? I didn't know they had those in chrome.

My original C7 wheels were chromed by the dealer, but unfortunately they began cracking and peeling after about a year. Fortunately, I got a steal on some C55 AMG wheels.
