Smells like an insurance job for sure. Jacked some parts interior which are expensive. Replaced wheels with stupid wheels, jacked some exterior parts BUT they happened to do all this without breaking a window? HMMMM I wonder how they did all this. Maybe it was Harry Houdini


After doing all this they banged some the body too, then called insurance company filed a claim. The adjuster came and salvaged it. They bought it back and are trying to make some money off of it.

Don't believe the SALVAGE title bull shyt. You know how many flood damaged cars they brought over from New Orleans and got new titles for and sold them AS CLEAN TITLE??

NO WAY THIS CAR IS A CLEAN TITLE. BY LOOKING AT IT THE CAR CAN BE SALVAGED SO WHY THE HELL WON'T THE OWNER REPORT TO INSURANCE COMPANY AND GET THE BLUE BOOK?

YOU KNOW WHY BECAUSE HE DID AND THE CAR IS SALVAGE SO THEY PAID HIM THEN HE BOUGHT THE CAR BACK FOR 3-4 K MAX AND NOW IS TRYING TO MAKE MONEY OFF OF IT.

Karo, the original owner of the car is not the person who currently has it. It's at an auto wrecking service, see my previous post. This is clearly an insurance write-off.

I was only trying to prevent someone from making a costly mistake. I'm not sure where the OP thinks I get my info from, but I've learned a great deal about the W203 in my tenure here - and have studied cars my entire life. Having scrapped with State Farm on many occasions, I'm also aware of how this damaged-beyond-expected-value stuff works. If fixing that car had been financially responsible, the insurance company would not have decided to write it off.

But you know, if he wants to buy it, it'll be his problem. I've had my say and did my best to help him avoid it. It's not wise, but oh well.

The body has clearly been damaged as evidenced by the misaligned bumper. Plenty of exterior parts are going to be missing on that car - the mesh obviously is gone and so are the fogs.

Half of this freaking car is missing. There's no way that all the components are there under the hood.

You're not going to buy it if a single wire is cut? TONS OF WIRES ARE CUT. There is no question. The rear speaker was ripped out - there is no way it could be removed as it was without taking that entire door skin off, and it's still attached.

You are indeed delusional, and you prove it because you come here asking questions and then arguing with the opinion of 100% of the respondents.

You people dont know the first things about this car besides what the pictures depict. Is this my first car? LOL no I buy and sale BMW's and i happen to come across this car and thought "hmmm ill check it out and do my research before I EVEN GO LOOK AT IT" I dont need you people who think they know it all criticize me because im curious about how much work this car will take? Hey guys i'm also a college student and i'm thinking of buying this Ferrari. I want to flip it and make some cash. I know the roof is damaged but I was thinking of just chopping it off and making a convertible. I know the fender is kind of messed up but I was thinking of bondoing the fender. The most important thing is it's not a SALVAGE title. The good news about this car is the seller says he will throw in the tree for free. SO maybe I can sell the tree which will pay for the repairs. What do you guys think?



I forgot to mention it also might need an alignment.

I can tell you from looking at what is left of that car that it was not fully loaded. And it certainly isn't fully loaded anymore

No need to thank me. I agree with them. I think the response was pretty much what anyone would expect. You posted something absurd, they tried to tell you that it was absurd and they were naturally a bit pushy about it as anyone would be. You then escalated it. This is how the internets work, and this forum is pretty damn gentle compared to the rest of the interwebs.
Remember - internets = serious business.

That 'parts list' I gave you is just the few things that are obvious from the pic and it is obscenely oversimplified and partial. Trust me, I didn't really do any work for you compared to what you would have to do in order to restore this car. Get it through your head - it is not doable under your circumstances and even if it were, it is certainly not worth that price! It's hard enough to buy one of these cars and not find nasty surprises when it is in GOOD SHAPE.

If you don't believe us than maybe buying it will teach you a valuable lesson.

What can I say I'm not a pro when it comes to cars like you are. You should open up a reality show because you mentioned how you buy cars and sell them. Maybe you can call it "Flipper". Show people how you buy a beat up car and magically make 10k profit on it.

I need your advice, I want to buy that Ferrari. What do you think if I don't repair the roof and just chop it off and make it into a convertible (roadster)? Infantry, your estimate of $10,000 in parts is probably not out of the realm of possibilities. The car is in sad shape. It's not just big components. It's tons of little things to make it all work again that will be very difficult even with large cash reserves, and all but impossible with a small budget. $11,500 (8500 + 3000) buys a nice used car.

This car is missing interior parts and can ALL BE PUT BACK TOGETHER.
