All you need to do is tell your insurance company. They are the ones that really need to know.

As for dianostic with comand can I suggest

1 + 3 + mute for 3 seconds. The screen that comes up is more than adequate to scan your D2B bus and reset the system.

I think you have to be in radio mode to make it work.

my insurance company knows. thats why they paid for my rub strip and euro split mirror after the accident. as for my comand, it had to be replaced completely. the screen went out. i did have that done under warranty at an MB dealer. thanks for the dianostic info though. might come in handy!

i have bluetooth in my V600, just wish i could get it to work with my car. i hope the mikbox comes out with their bluetooth version.

Your (aftermarket) Comand died and MB agreed to replace under warranty even though it did not come with the car originally?? Did you get the Comand through Steve?

kinda sorta. not thru steve directly but a place in san diego who gets their comand's thru steve and installs them. the screen went out on it. when starting the car the screen would turn on. the radio would turn on with sound but no visual sign the screen was working. i would have ot turn off the unit then back on. it was periodic in the beginning but got to where the screen went out totally. the COMAND was new when i bought it. still had the plastic wrap on the front, etc. and yes i did get it replace in Sep. 03 at Hoehn Mercedes-Benz. they replaced the COMAND. it showed on my workslip and also all my address locations which were saved were gone as well as radio station presets.

the first dealer i went too where i bought the car, MB san diego, they did. only citron coupe they sold so when i pulled in with mods they noticed usually like audio10, comand which replaced that, etc. MBSD installed the mirrors, illuminated sills at the time of delivery. anyhow i started going to Hoehn for service, better loaners, and serivice advisors. never mentioned it was a retrofitted unit. they never asked. it got replaced. plus i was given a card that said it is covered by the 4yr/50k warranty by MB, but the dealer may refuse to service the unit. it worked out for me, so thats cool.

The multicontour seats are really really nice. I use them everyday and they are so nice to have all the time. Worth it.

sweet! as far as im going with my seats are the heated/vented seats from the CLK. what different type of controls do you have for the multicontured seats?

The controls are pneumatic on the side of the seat. You can see the controls on the first 2 pictures. CLK seats have different controls. They look different but function same.

I wanted to know how many people are intersted in the UHI kits for the c class and clk class ONLY. These cars have harnresses built in them from factory so I can make an adapter to use with UHI. The kit would consist of the PSE, New Floor of Center Console, UHI Clip, Wire Adapter, and Phone Cradle of Choice. So far, there is a Siemens s55 Cradle, Nokia 6310i cradle, Sony Ericsson t610/617/630/637 cradle. v600 should be released any day now. If there are enough people interested I can go ahead and make the adapters for the cable harness. This would mean you can use your existing Harness foro the UHI. Is this basically a kit that integrates other cell phones into the radio unit? (I am not familiar with those terms you used). Does it work on the 2005 models? If so, I am interested! Thanks.

UHI =Universal Handy Interface. A new system devoloped by Benz for their cars so different phones can be integrated into the car with a swap of the cradle. The PSE remains the same. PSE=BRAIN OF PHONE SYSTEM. This will NOT work on 05 cars. Only 01-04.5 cars. 05 cars have different fiberoptics.

I don't have a phone currently in Coupe. I didn't get any of the technical options, COMAND, or voice whatever stuff. Actually, I'm pretty clueless with all those options. I don't even have a car phone. But, am I to understand that the car already comes programmed to accept a phone if I choose to install this UHI thing. What's the cost and what else do I need to make this thing work ?

Since your car is USA based, it has the wiring for a phone already. You can install the UHI kit provided I have enough people. The phone will be totally integrated with the car steering wheel, radio buttons, car speakers, dash display. It is all original Mercedes Benz Stuff.
