I'd rather not do this... BUT WOW! My accident didn't feel anything like that. I actually walked out with only airbag burns.
My accident details: 1/9/10
I was in a passing lane doing 40-45 headed down Bear Mountain after a snowboarding trip w/ my girlfriend. A Nissan Armada that I was about to pass decided to cut into my lane to pass and hit me at 40degrees from parallel. The impact of the car shot me across incoming traffic and into a snowdrift on the opposite side of the road. The impact destroyed my wheel, suspension, peeled back the fenders, moved the front clip, and basically totaled the car.
My girlfriend and I walked out with only airbag rash. All in all, I'm definitely glad we were in my Mercedes.

Airbags are very complex. If you walk away from an accident unhurt and the airbags didn't deploy, then they weren't needed. It's impossible to judge from damage whether or not airbags should have deployed.

Good watching that. Thanks for posting. Here is something you might find interesting, however, it is for the W211 chasis, I don't have one explaining the W203, sorry.

very very very true! Ppl think they're are movement sensors in the bumpers etc etc that is hit hard enough will deploy the airbags. But in reality there's small little sensors that detect extreme loss of speed(just for the front airbags of course) which actually deploys the airbag. a 10-15 mph impact against another car might or might not deply the airbag but a 10-15mph impact again a concrete all will defintely deploy them. I think the NHTS safety ratings as BS! They do not test it throughly enough! I mean look at the SMART car they gave it a 4 or 5 star rating... motortrend said they are out of there mind and tested it themselves and said in an article don't hit anything bigger then u
