I had to take the car back to the dealer because it was making a rattling noise when it was cold. Turned out the power steering fluid was low, which was odd because the car was a CPO. But anyway it didn't cost me anything and I got a loaner 2009 c300 for a day.

While I was there I had them put on a flat hood badge. I also asked how much the 2007 c230 spoiler was, and its 600+ unpainted So it looks like I'll be picking something up from eBay or this site.

I didn't get any off the sticker. I thought the sticker price was fair and didn't bother haggling. I was looking for a smooth transaction. They gave me more than I owed on my trade in and the car is CPO with a 1y/100,000 mile warranty. I got it for 19,500 with 47,000 miles.

I looked at a few others and this one was hands-down the cleanest one. It looks almost brand new inside and out.

Yikes.. that was too much. I bought a CPO 2007 model with half that mileage for a relative last year in an expensive part of Atlanta (Buckhead) for $21,500 OTD. You could've saved a couple grand easily. Always haggle, always. I hate dealers and I love the games they play because I've done it so much I play along.

Um ok. It was a fair price IMO. Plus the dealer was less than 30 miles away. Sure I could have found something slightly cheaper but its not really a big deal. OTD I was at 19,500. The ease of everything was well worth the little extra money spent.

Well it was your deal so as long as you are happy. Carmax, for example, typically charges more for their cars that other regular dealers, but the ease of buying a car at Carmax is worth the extra money for some people. For me, I like the haggle at times. I paid $19,500 for my car OTD just like you did. It was in July of 08 (car was 3 years old with 25k miles).. their asking price had been $24,500. As long as you have good credit or cash, you have the upper hand. But like I say, the game is not for everyone. I've experienced Carmax and the process is sooo easy. When I bought the 2007 CPO C230 at MB of Buckhead the saleslady was like "Are you planning to buy today?" and I said "Yes, I'm buying a C230 today - that doesn't mean it will be your's."

Totally understood. For me this was the best car within 300 miles and cleaner than the other 2 I looked at. So I jumped on it. I actually tested drove a 350 but it was no where near as clean as the 230. Personally the convenience and speed in which I got this done as well worth it. My dealer was super friendly and there was no bull**** in the whole transaction. The relationship and support from the dealer was great and worth my money.

I got this at a MB dealer BTW, not sure where your going with the Carmax thing.

*edit*

I didn't originally plan on financing though the dealer but with a 4.9%, that's hard to beat.

No I knew you had gone through a MB dealership because you said CPO. I was just saying the only no-haggle experience I've ever had was Carmax and it was very easy, and in my case at that moment, worth it. So I see how that goes.
