What size belt goes on the factory pulley?

Which belt? The S/C belt is 1355mm or about 53 3/8".

I'm trying to find the size of the factory belt that i took off to put on the asp pulley.

I'll try again to see if you are paying attention this time. The S/C belt is 1355mm or about 53 3/8".

you asked which belt and i was trying to tell you which one i needed the size of. i didn't know if it was the s/c belt, only that it was the one i removed when i installed the asp pulley. my knowledge in this area is very limited.

i can only find a 53" and a 53.7"..........know where i may be able to get one

BTW, if you go to the website for Gates belts and select the most current Mercedes they have, the 2001 SLK230 (same motor as us), they show a 53.2" alt - s/c belt, part number K060532 and that's close enough to the 53.3" factory belt.

You can't get parts at my dealer. Well, at least not without waiting for them to order it. And then you will have to wait longer after they re-order it because they ordered it wrong. Service dept. is bad enough, but it seems worse when you can't get the parts you need.
