Light sensor -Visit workshop-
I get mal function in cluster and I cant communicate with sensor by Star (at overhead controller). I have changed sensor but nothing. Have readed that battery could be reason, But I dont think Battery is way its end because I cant communicate even car is running and voltage 13,7V. I think that problem comes when using star and change settings but not sure. Have checked F-Sam and EGS and light sensor codeing are there..

I also use Auxilary heater dayly (whole winter) so I think it will kill bad battery very short time if it is broken. I have set voltage down limit to aux. heater to 11V and it have ever stopped for that..
EDIT:
I made test tonight. I put battery charger to my car so we will see tomorrow is the battery problem..

We will se tomorrow morning is battery broke. I think it cant give error when I charge it whole night.. 
Do you sensor still work with errors? Light and rain sensor both not working for me..

My first guess would be the battery also. I had the same message show up on my instrument cluster. The error message/malfunction would disappear after driving for about 15 minutes or more, then re-starting the car.
Error message did not return when the battery was replaced.
There have been other posts on this forum regarding this.

yup and i charged mine many times too and it still did it
if you have a weak bat even fully charged as soon as you crank the engine is sucks the power down
go get it load tested at MB my dealer tested mine for $21.00 and when it failed and i told him to replace it he waived the 21.00

I still wonder why cant get connection with star. If I get other ar next to my and we use battery starting cables I think it should not give error after start my car. Am I right?

I can't believe you're wasting all this time. How old is the battery?! 12.2V is low. If you're going to be this way about it, then why not at least swap the battery out with a good one from another car to test? The lack of "communication" with the sensor through SDS is exactly what happens when you have a bad BATTERY because it is glitching. This is a well known problem. Is your battery from 2005? If so just change it!!

Sir, just change the battery. Many of us have had to go through this methodically queer way of figuring out we need a new battery. We're trying to make it easy for you. CHANGE IT.

Now battery tested by professional and there is results. They told that it is totaly waste off money to change health battery. So tell me next place were try to find fault reason?

people have gotten there battery tested before and it passed but once they replaced it error goes away. if you don't want to do that i recommend going to a dealer.
If I go to our dealer I think they:
1. Change light sensor (already changed)
2. Change Overhead control unit
3. Change Front SAM and so on..
I have my Own star but can't connection to Light sensor unit, overhead unit I can.
EDIT: They are very helpful in local part delaer and I would ask to give they new battery to try ..

Tested with other battery with no results
Now I had made test with other car battery. Other car was running next to mine with 13.4V and I use cables. It just gives light sensor fault. Mine own think is that DBE (over head panel) is faulty. It gives can fault for light sensor. I cant get any connection to my light or rain sensor by Star. Also SAM-F gives can-communication fault to DBE.
