steering wheel retrofit?
searched the forum... couldnt really find anything useful in regards to this.
im trying to figure out if it is possible to swap the 4 spoke steering wheel from my 05 c230 to a 3 spoke sports version without losing audio controls.
alot of the old threads talked about swapping the steering wheel to a prefacelift, which some people stated that the electronics were different between the 01-04 and the 05-07... is that correct?

I honestly dont see why you couldnt swap a luxury wheel for a sport all the buttons are the same its just the physical wheel is different, you would prob need the sport airbag as the luxury one is a diff shape. So your looking at an 900+ dollar mod just for a different wheel.

I actually don't know if it's possible, but I DO know that you'd have to buy an airbag as well, which is $$$$.

yea canadian c230 come in sport and nonsport which looks like the c240, right now im looking at a sterring wheel for 90 bucks and an airbag for aorund 400. just not sure if it will work :/

It seems like a lot of money to spend to me when getting your current wheel redone exactly the way you'd like would run about half that amount.
Of course, you wouldn't be changing the center of the wheel, and you'd still have the 4-spoker, but that may be another avenue you might want to pursue.
