Engine Management Light Question
Engine Management Light Question
Hey Guys
I have a 2001 C Class Coupe C200 Kompressor (with Evolution Pack) and got the Engine management light this morning. Took it to my local MB specialist and they checked it out. The guy said it is a pipe that comes from the manifold, It has split and is sucking in air, hence the EM light. Does this sound right?? He estimated £400 to fix with most of that being labour..
Does anyone know about this pipe, what its called where its located exactly??
Also there used to be a site which ave you a break down of the car parts, I think it was in Russian, I had it booked marked but lost it..
Cheers for any help you can give guys..
Chris

Ive never herd of an Evo Class Coupe, so Im just going to assume you own a C class coupe. If the guy is talking about a pipe that comes out of the intake manifold, then it would be the intake pipe housing which is plastic, but it doesn't split air, it just sucks it in. If it was erring then its prob the IAC valve which are about 100 ish dollars and take a whole maybe 30 minutes to install.
You need to do a way better job of telling us what on earth is actually broke and what car you actually have

I have edited post.. sorry it didnt make sense.. The guy at the garage said " there is a split pipe sucking in air by the manifold" he didnt say exhaust manifold or intake manifold so thats why I'm confused and asking for help..
Sorry for not commenting on your replys... I've put about 300 miles on the car this week (after the garage resetting the faults) and the EM light hasn't shown its face once, surely it should have come on by now??? The cars running like normal.. I am going to get under the bonnet on Thursday and check over the Inlet manifold now I have that image, it gives me somewhere to start..
Thanks for the replys guys
