W203, Difficulto to put fisrt Gear
Dear Coleagues,
I have a w203 C200 CDi 2000 model with 170 000 km manual 6 veloc gear box with following problem;
If the engine is not running you can easily move to any of the 6 gears and to the R position, so I believe there is no problem with the selector.
If the engine is running, you press the clutch pedal to the end and it is a bit difficult to put the first gear (the same happen to the other gears), there is a resistance, however once you overtake that resistance it is easy to move it to any of the 6 and R position, as long you have the clutch pedal pressed. When the car is running there is absolutly no resistance to change gears.
I've consulted Mercedes Benz official representative and I didn't like his opinion very much: approximately 4 hour manpower just to discover the cause: may be the clutch or may be engine flange (spare part cost arround 1300 euros), by the pedal sensibility they don't believe in a problem with the hydraulic circuit, nor the fluid level, however nobody have checked anything. They just took the driver's seat and followed my instructions as described above.
¿Does anybody have any opinion or similar past experience?

Thanks very much for all replies.
I don't think the problem is the sincro for the 1st gear, because the same happen if I try to start with 2nd 3rd or even the rear position. I'll try the Patrick suggestion of pumping the cluch many times before engage a gear. If there is less resistance It could mean a hydraulic problem.
