Pic request, 6000k and 8000k Bix

Hi guys,

I am going to fit my Bix this week, and just wondering if i should put a 6000k or 8000k xenon kit.

Can you please post pics of both 6000/8000k in projectors/Bi-xenon headlights?

Thanks.

Are you going with factory BiX? The way the factory projector is designed, if you're looking at the projector the light always looks nice and blue but the light on the road is whatever the bulb is. I was told the BiX I bought for my old C230 had 10000K bulbs and I quite liked those, but I'm not really sure if they truely were since the salts looked yellowish which indicates a lower Kelvin rating. I can't find that I've taken any pictures of my headlights though. I would like to try and get some GE bulbs that are rated at like 9000K for my C55, but I can't find any seller's that have them.

I wouldn't go past 6000k, you lose a lot of light output and the color starts to get annoying.

Once you go past 6000K, you go beyond what is considered "white" light on the kelvin scale. Yellowish light (3,000k - 4,300K *OEM) has more disbursement and is more easily seen by the eye. White and blue tinted light is cleaner and more clear but the "spread" isn't as easily seen. You will however get better reflections from road signs.
Once you hit 8,000k the scale pretty much hits colors you don't want. Good luck.

these charts are such bull****, and i cant stand the misinformation spread on the forums.

5000k looks DAMN blue with white on a real xenon projector, 6000k looks straight up blue.

PAY ATTENTION TO THIS PART FOLKS: 8000k does NOT look blue, it's purple and it looks LAME. only ricers put 8000k in their junk.

that crappy picture of the bulbs is such nonsense, since it's the projector lens which separates the light and determines what colors you will see for the most part.

eh just go with 5000k if you want a little more blue. If you want performance, i would go with the oem philips 4300k. The 4300k is noticeably brighter then the 5000k +

I don't know how much this will help you, but this is my Trailblazer with 8000k. No projectors but it should at least give you a good idea. When I had a 6000K kit in my old C230 the color wasn't that different.

No offense and I'm not trying to jerk you around but this all depends on the manufacturer and housing. I have 6000k and like you say it's blue. I know a lot of members who have the 8000k and this looks blue as well. the 6000k is a lighter blue where the 8000k is darker blue. I have never seen a 8000k be purple. I have to agree with this chart (no way a 8000k is purple)

Again this all depends on the manufacturer. I use 6000k and I am really happy with it.

This is correct information. Sure, there are variations with brand but the thing that does not change is that it is a fact that 4100-4300k is the OEM and optimum range.. past 5000k is turning blue.. 6000k is a good compromise if the "blue" look is important... past 6000k is choosing form over function. Headlights have an intended use and should be first and foremost tools to increase safety, not as fashion statements. Whoever led any of you to think that super-blue or purple headlights were "cool" or "hip" probably drove a fart-can muffler with an 89 Civic hatch attached to it, sporting plastic spinners and Type-R stickers on every panel. It's not cool or hip, it's ridiculous, pointless, annoying, and decreases your vision (especially in inclement weather).
