Ipod integration kit

Hey everyone,

Just got my ipod integration kit in...

Can someone post a link to the DIY for the ipod integration kit. I searched but I couldnt find one with pictures. I searched google for site:mbworld.org ipod integration and nothing useful came up. Thanks in advance.

Look on www.benzworld.org.

There's one on there that I used, but I lost my link for it.

thanks...that must have been where I saw it last time too. Btw, did you have to get the volume booster thing, or was yours loud enough?

Mine was loud enough.

I thought the volume booster was only for W204 cars.

I installed the volume booster and then took it out again. While it helps the volume level, it significantly compresses the sound quality.

It's not a hard install. It took me 20 minutes. Just take your time. The worst part is the torx screws. If you've never removed them, they are way over-tightened from the factory.

chris thanks for the info! it seems plenty loud!! I did mess up on a few things. When putting it all back together it seems I scratched the trim of my cigarette lighter compartment, and also when I was putting my head unit back in I nicked the leather to the left of it (oh man it isnt that bad but it is KILLING ME when I look at it).

I started looking at just getting all new trim...maybe a different style...I dont know what I am going to do yet.

Someone on here recently wrapped their trim in carbon fiber fabric. It's very sexy.

Great link--thanks for posting! How much is the kit? Do the song names show up on the screen? I'm amazed that they don't include iPod integration in these cars by 2005 (or before)--a 1/8 jack in the glove compartment is not hi-tech nor is it a big expense.

Some of the song name appears in the instrument cluster. You navigate the iPod with your steering wheel controls. It is very simplistic, but it works well.
