Which lug nuts (bolts) & center caps do I need?

Just picked up a new (to me) set of wheels. I remember reading about differences between the lug bolts used on different style wheels and don't want to mess these up. Sooo, can you guys tell me if the stock lug bolts will work with these, or if I need to get new ones to match the wheels? The stock wheels I believe are called the 'C7' wheels, non-staggered with 37mm offsets. The CLK wheels are staggered with 30mm rear offset. I'm also wondering if I need longer lug bolts for the rears now...

As you can see I need centercaps, so if you guys can help with any info on those I would appreciate it too.

Thanks in advance!!!

Finally got epc working but not under Windows 7... So from what I can tell the lug bolts that I have should work (radius seat bolt). The part numbers appear to be the same from epc. I also tried one in the new wheels and it seems to fit correctly. Still can't find the thread about lug bolts I remember reading. It also looks like any of the standard ~3" center caps will work just fine.

If anyone knows contrary to the above, please let me know!

Nice set of wheels man! Congrats! Show us some pics once you've got em mounted on. I do not know what bolt sizes you will need , but the center caps should be a universal size for all MB models [3" dia.]. It's probably cheapest to buy those off of ebay or craigslist if you find any local to you.

Thanks guys. The wheels aren't in quite the perfect shape they were advertised (didn't find out until I drove 3 hours to meet the guy), but I got them essentially for the price of the tires. I'll take some pics once I get the centercaps - got some genuine ones off EBay for ~$30/set. I'm still wondering if there are different type ball seats for the lug bolts ... ?

Edit: even though the rear wheels are a different offset, I believe they're drilled out to accomodate the same length lug bolts as the fronts.

Your old lug bolts and centercaps should work. You only need new bolts if you get aftermarket wheels or spacers. Aftermarket wheels are usually cone seat, not ball seat like MB OEM. Spacers require longer bolts. There are different type of ball seats, but that's between car companies. For example, some Audi's have different radius ball seat bolts than MB uses.

Dealer sells a couple sytles of MB OEM centercaps for about $50 I believe.

As per e1000, W203/CL203 & CLK (208, 209) use the SAME LUG BOLT
C-Class (W201, W202, W203, S203, S210) - alloy wheel -
CLK-Class (208, 209) - alloy wheel -
M12x1.5 thread, R12 ball seat, 39.9mm shank, 17mm hex

But just to clarify,... incase someone later search and find this thread,.... Mercedes actually uses 3 different ball seat sizes: R12, R13 & R14 (Problem if you use newer W204 C class rims or SL rims with R13 ball seats). Different classes & generations & wheel types of Mercedes uses different size ball seats. All M12x1.5 thread are R12 ball seats. But the M14x1.5 thread lug bolts usually uses R13 ball seats,... but some classes like CL-Class (215), M-Class (from 07), Maybach & S-Class (140, 220) will use R13 ball seat only for steel wheels and use R14 ball seat only for alloy wheels.

So how can you tell by looking at the rims if the rim uses R12, R13 or R14 seat if the person doesn’t know which car the rims came off from?

Simple,... Measure it!

R12 means Radius = 12mm
R13 means Radius = 13mm
R14 means Radius = 14mm

In addition, inside of rim has part number stamped on it,... and thus you can figure out what MB class/generation rim was originally for,... and thus ball seat size.
