c55 swap

what you guys think about this?
http://www.automotix.net/usedengines...inventory.html
some of you recall that i wanted to make my 230 faster. but as it is the base model, neither kleemen nor rentech support anything useful. besides an exhaust system and an ecu flash, nothing in the market for me.

so what you guys think? can it be done with this engine? would i need anything else? ive never done anything close to an engine swap so all info is appreciated

so not worth it, The C55 have gone down in price. I am seeing them for what I paid for my car over a year and a half ago.

Buy a C55.

Done

I win.

yea not worth it and probably way too much custom work. i believe the c55 uses a clk front end to compensate for the larger engine. correct me if i'm wrong, im not really too sure.

Easy solution then. Swap the front clip to the CLK63. LMAO
I kid I kid. Yah it's def not worth it. If you want it faster, just drive down hill when it's cold and where air is more dense. lol

just trade it in and get a c55. You might even make money on the deal or break even since you have a 07.

too much work just like everyone said. You need to do a CLK front end.

Sell your car and get this. Flash it and pull off 550hp
http://tinyurl.com/22og3mb

550hp in a CLK!!!

Just enjoy your car for now. If you want something fast you can always spend that money (5-7k) and buy a honda that's boosted and you can have fun with it

I saw a silver c55 down here for $24,000 with less than 60,000 miles. I had my c230 already. oh well.

rear end a c55 at about 200+ mph and that would mold the two cars together and give you a c55 front end. lol jk

if your willing to make a hosrt drive to SoCal, there are at least 6 C55's for 18-25000.

The money you'd spend on the engine, transmission, and completely redoing the front end wouldnt be worth it.

I would look into doing a C32 engine swap though

Ah, didn't think of it from that aspect.

To my credit, it does seem like power is his primary concern, though

Granted I live in WV (hour south of Pittsburgh, PA) and I see a C55 or two around here with sometimes less than 40K miles, 05-06ish, for low 20's. Granted, that may be because they just don't sell well around this region...

Unfortunately, like everyone has said...not too practical.

This is a cool website though. I've considered dropping a C32 engine/tranny into my C320 wagon if I could find a totaled C32, but now I don't have to. And, the prices on a C32 engine/tranny seem very reasonable. In my case, I think it would basically drop in, much less work than yours.
