why do RSXs keep trying to race me???
everywhere i go, every stop light, an rsx pulls up next to me and tries to get me to race. today a BASE rsx tried to race me up roosevelt blvd in philly. it has like a 160 hp. and 12 lbs of torque
.
well anyway i thought i might post some interesting things i found while cruising around that site with sales figures
1/4 mile times for RSX type s:
15.11, 15.20, 15.32, and the outliers 14.80, and 15.70
1/4 mile times for the coupe:
15.70, 15.70, 15.33, 15.30
they seem pretty darn close to me
the shift points is what makes the coupe seem slow as dirt on the 0-60 but its 0-50 and 1/4 mile times are no slouch, considering how much it ways.
everyday i love my car more

I think the demographics of RSX and C230 drivers are vastly different.
I think the RSX drivers are much younger probably heavily in the 16-25 segment and they love to race and challenge other drivers. That probably why insurance companies rate the RSX as a higher risk car and charge higher premiums.
C230 drivers I think are a little older. Granted some want to up their hp with chips and pulleys, but the C230 has more intangibles to appreciate. The beautiful sunroof, more luxurious..etc. Racing is probably very low on their list of priorities.
Don't waste your time racing with these kids, you guys have nothing to prove. The 3 pointed star on the grill is more than enough satisfaction than you'll ever need.
ENJOY!!!

I agree with heat010 that the demographics of RSX and C230 drivers are somewhat (but not vastly) different...
UNLESS...
Your car looks like an RSX competitor. If you start putting stickers on the car, neon under the rocker panels, and such, you are basically saying, "Look at me. I'm one of the Rocket Racer crowd... Let's have a go..." In which case, you will invite no end of challenges.
On the other hand, if you don't look the part, you can pick and choose when you want to be adventurous, picking occassions that are to your advantage... The stealthy approach.
Make sense?

Make sense? When you get your replacement C230K, maybe you can entertain the later option.

Nobody ever pull up next to me at a traffic light and try to race me.
Mostly I just don't let people try to cut in front of me when they pull up to my right next to the curb. Even if the 230K is .5 0 1 second slower, but that's enough keep up or right next to them and not giving them room to cut into my lane.
It happened a couple times that they got frustrated and at the next light, they just decided to ran the red light, now that's stupid.

i'm on my way home from work and I'm in my c230k and this eclipse gt tries to race me. I race him in the c230k and he pulls a little on me but it's about even. So i'm like let's race for a 1000 bucks, but let me use my real car. So I live really near like 2 minutes away I tell him to wait for me at the gas station. I come back and pull up in my 99 Eclipse GS-T all chameleon paint job with full custom kit 18" rims and upgraded turbo. Well anyway he asked me to pop my hood because I said it was stock which it obviously isn't and he doesn't know anything because my engine is polished and the turbo is a little hidden even though it's quite a bit larger than stock. So we pull up to a light and I tell him i'll give him the jump. I give him the jump and wait a second, boom I launch and it's over by 2nd gear. My 300hp just blew him away and he just took off after so he wouldn't have to pay me. I should've chased him but hey it's only a grand and not worth it, he probably doesn't have the money. I'm a little dissapointed in the c230k in early gears. I would fix it up with all the mods but I already have a race car. The most i'll do is lower it and HID's and probably sounds system.
