What wheels should I go with? (poll)
Ok guys/gals, need your help. I'm looking to change my wheels but I want to keep them similar in size and want to keep them in the MB family. With some advise from Frank, I've narrowed down the choices to:
keeping my original wheels
22 spoke AMG wheel on the SL and SLK
6 twin spoke MBZ wheel on the CLK350
5 spoke AMG wheel on the CLK
For those who want me to upsize and go tuner: Honestly, I had 19s before on my coupe and I regretted it. The ride just wasn't the same.
I'm only looking at the option because my front tires will need to be changed soon and the carwash curbed my wheel this weekend so having an extra set w/ fresh tires isn't a bad thing.

I am selling my 22-spoke AMG SL55 rims right now
and not just because im selling them, but my vote goes for those!
They look sick on the car, i always get compliments, people always say how they never have seen those before, plus they are just SAWEET lol

I'm in the same boat as you are, also wheel shopping but wanting to keep it looking stock.
Other then what you have I'm also looking at the E55 wheels (replicas). Any thoughts? They look like the C55 wheels just much cleaner.
The 22 spoke SLK wheels are hot like fire! I'm just concerned about them being 18 inchers (in my area they would be taken out by a pot hole pretty easily).

I know i'm gonna get bashed when I say this BUT forget the AMG. You can get much better wheels.
Sorry never have been a fan of AMG wheels
But if I had to choose 22spoke
If you're gonna go with 17" you might as well not change them. Go bigger or go home

Thanks guys. I actually found two sets of the 22spoke but held off on them so far because the tires were too big and I'm trying to avoid having to make two purchases.
I'm going to keep looking and see what happens next.
Thanks again guys, your opinions are greatly appreciated.

Mike seriously bro, you spent a good chunk of money doing performance tunes on your car. AMG wheels tend to be on the heavy side (they actually weight a lot compared to aftermarket performance wheels).
The key here is unsprung weight.
The general rule of thumb is 1lb reduction of unsprung weight is = to 4lb weight reduction overall.
Better performance, acceleration and handling and braking.
Think about it bro

Check these out (not posting because they are my wheels but look at the difference between weight-that size AMG I think will be high 30)

You guys make a great point about upsizing and weight (Karo). Sadly, in typical Mike fashion, this was another one of those "band-aid" mods that would eventually lead up to something much bigger (like how my tuned muffler turned into an exhaust system).
Honestly, at this point, I'm looking at keeping it original. I like the ride quality too much to want to go any bigger. The 19s on my coupe forever scarred me. The gas mileage and ride quality decrease really got to me.

Booya, beat you Karo, and I should have even lighter wheels at 19x8.5

Mugen, there's no doubt I'll forever love your car... I should go with classic ssr, centerline or yokohama avs and blame it on you.
As for lightweight wheels, I'd love em... but feel guilty because my chunky butt counter balances the weight savings as soon as I get in the car. LOL
Quad -... Mike... you cheeky bass tard (censors lol). You're right and we all know it. We should do a black and white feature and get me free wheels too! lol

Ohh Hello
These are the wheels for you MIKE!!!
Don't get the Brabus, I'm only saying this cause I love you man. Light wheels bro. You spent soo much money on performance mods and these heavy brabus wheels are gonna ruin it.

I mite as well go for the carbon dymags carbon magnesium wheels. 14 lbs! lol
I'm thinking about this all wrong! Maybe I should re-drill some oem 97 Honda Civic HX wheels. Those things weigh 11lbs! lol
Lol, seriously though. Thanks for talking me down Karo.
