help locating tranny part
Any ideas?
It is inside the transmission, integrated into the valve body on your car, since you have the 722.9/7G transmission. What are you trying to accomplish?
The transmission is a little jerky and, most annoyingly, it often seems to be in too high a gear. It'll be in 4th when I'm trying to merge into traffic and need the power of third. More than once, I've accidentally cut someone off because of the lag in this tranny.
I've lurked the forums for a while, and some claim it's just part of this 7G tranny - that the car "races" to the high gears to increase fuel efficiency. But I had also read that a dirty MAF could cause the lag, new firmware seems to help some, and oil wicking up into the TCU can cause problems.
I've addressed everything accept that last issue. Seems that it isn't applicable for my car.
One new, slightly related, question do the w203's have a "93 octane" setting? Where I live, 91 is rare, so I always run 93. Am I missing out on some of the power/efficiency of 93?
thanks
