Hey everyone,

I just discovered that my wife’s newly purchased 2007 C280 is not pre-wired for the phone. The worst part is that I assumed it was, being that my 2005 kompressor was, so I went ahead and purchased the MHI phone kit from the dealer ($400.00). Does anybody know how involved it is to retrofit the wiring harness, and if there are instructions to do so?

It is very expensive and time consuming to retrofit phone if it is not pre-wired. I goofed up when I ordered mine and forgot to get the phone pre-wired. You need a new center console too, as it has 2 compartments. I have yet to see anyone on the forum attempt a phone install w/o prewire.

I was going to install phone on my 07, but gave up after researching what it takes. I decided instead to install a Command NTG 2.5 out of a CLC/G-Class, as it has built in bluetooth.

Thanks for responding I just might go your route … where did you get your command? is it an exact fit and do you have NAV?

You are in NY, google MBdoctor (somewhere in NYC) He (MBdoctor) can give you advice on the BT phone for your wife 07C280. Years ago, he help me by direct me to someone he know (Rocco autotech in Costa Mesa, CA) on retrofit the OEM Navi. Out here (CA) the C class (W203) Bluetooth retrofit is $1000 from MY 05-07. It should not cost you more than that in NY. Good luck.
