So today i was driving and i stopped at a red light. When i started going on green my car started shaking and felt like it was about to turn off on me, like when the rpm drops down low in higher gears and it feels like its about to turn off. So then i stopped at a red light again and my car was still shaking, so the check engine light came on. I got to my house turned off my car checked the engine, there was no smoke or anything coming out of the bay, it was all clear. When i turn it on now, there is no shaking and everything feels normal except the check engine light is still on ....

Anyone have a clue to what is going on ? Is there anyway i can find out what the problem is ...

 

It is really hard to diagnose without the appropriate scanning of the diagnostic codes. Please buy or borrow a code scanner and post the codes here. You can also go to most autoparts stores and they will scan your codes for free.

There are quite a few posts like yours that end up being MAF sensor related.

As John says - scan for Codes. If one reboot solved the problem it might just be a brain fart of the ECU or you might have triggered limp mode. Continue driving & the light might go out.

Let us have those codes. Oh! and clean your MAF if not done recently.

So i got it checked out today

It was a cylinder 1 misfire, code p0301 i think.

The check engine light went off, but i have a friend and he said he can fix it once the light comes on again.

 

Plug, wire or coil on plug. See if it comes back.

 

So my check engine light turned off and the car is running fine.

I took the car to my friend and he took a look at it and also said everything was fine but he told me to buy a bottle of sea foam to clear the igniation and everything so....

why do you think it went away ??

 

amazing stuff that sea foam thingy.........I have used and can concor.........cleans the **** out...but make sure that you are in an isolated location as the car will bellow white smoke as if it is a steam engine..............but sure does clean the entire ignition/intake/injectros/plugs............etc etc......BTW how many miles on your ride???

I am on 45k miles when the time comes say around 75k-90k miles I will sea foam the car..........just google Sea Foam and read about it.
