CV boots torn going to replace them
2003 c240 4 matic wagon 119,500km both front outer cv boots are torn and have been for 1 year put it up on my ramps for a good look and the right side inner boot is also loose and leaking grease so next week im going to fix them
boot kit at MB for ourt is $40.00 canadian each inner is a bit more I think
so $80.00 in parts each axel
my joints im not sure of the condition so found a local shop that totally rebuilds the joints making new parts if neeeded for $175.00 each axel
this way i dont waste time rebooting a joint that may be worn
i need to remove them and drop them off takes them approx 5 hours to rebuild
going to remove the right side front axel shaft next sunday if the weather holds Ill try and get pics and do a DIY axelshaft writeup

good call, i had my axle boots replaced not to long ago and just re-lubed the joint because when they checked itt it looked fine, but they said if that joint goes it becomes a very extensive repair

got the rhight side done today both inner and outer boots were torn
shop rebuilds the joints and machines new parts
guy said joint was shot and boot replacement alone would have done nothing (i was getting the rebuild anyways so no upsale there)
cost me $282.50 tax in canadian going to do the left side soon
this was done in scarborough Ontario
