A/C problem gone bad!

Hoping you guys could shed some light in my little problem. I have an 02' C240 about 70k miles. Took it to the shop which works on Mercedes and BMW's.

The A/C has been blowing hot air but circulation and everything else is ok. Guy tells me its the compressor that seized up. So he quotes me for a new compresssor etc. And now that the new compressor is in and pressure is in and everything else. He tells me its still not blowing any cold air. He says he's not getting any "circulation" ? He needs more time with the car. I have no clue about A/C. Anyone help me out?

He and you need to be specific. I assume he is not saying that your circulation issue is with your interior fan motor as you mentioned that you could blow hot air.

Ask again, what he suspects and bring it back to the board. I know that compressor was a pretty penny. You don't want to keep throwing money at the issues needlessly.

Yes Glyn! He's not getting any circulation from the refrigerant, but he says the pressure is good. The new compressor is in and still can't get it to cool. He has already checked for leaks and there isn't any in the system. I mean how complicated is the A/C system in the C's ???

He needs to make sure that the controller is getting the swash plate actuator in the compressor to move from idle position to pumping position.

I'm getting a sick feeling that he might have replaced a perfectly good compressor.

I thought that too, but wouldn't they test if the part itself is faulty once its taken out. Or somehow determine if indeed its that compressor that went bad. I will keep you posted once I let him rule out the controller on pumping position and not on idle. Thanks again.
