2003 C230K coupe stalls and restarts
I have a 2003 C230K coupe since 2008, it now has 100k miles on it.The car died on me last thanksgiving, the check engine light was on. I couldn't even start it. I towed it to a garage and since I was on the eve of travelling abroad for six months, I left it there until I returned. The mechanic told me after about a month that all it needed was some plug, that he was able to start it again.
When I returned, the car was starting but the check engine light was still on. Many codes were activated but another mechanic told me it was the rear O2 sensor. I have had to change the oxygene sensors like 4 times already (front and back ones) on this car. About a year and half ago, I changed the rear O2 sensor, went to the dealership for that; needless to say that I was surprised to hear of this issue again. The mechanic told me that the 02 sensors can wrong anytime.
I changed it and he was able to reset all the other codes. Now when I drive the engine will stall sometimes and the driving is not as smooth as before but it's not easily noticeable. so far eveytime It stalled I have been able to start it right away, it has happenned 3 times already and I am not sure what the issue is. The mechanic told me it could be a fuel pump issue or some other thing I can't remember, I am just frustrated. Any help will be immenselly appreciated.
