A/C only cools good when car moving/ Rear breaklight issue
Hello All:
I have a 2002 C230 M111 hat just turned 63k miles. I do all the maintenance etc on it and its been a peach thus far.
Now, My a/c is ice cold when the car is traveling over 20-30 mph. When I am at a light Etc the air is warm.
I also keep getting a rear light out warning. I have changed the bulbs, checksed all the wiring and nothing.
Thanks for any help,

its your condenser fan. Yuor condenser is not being cooled properly. Take a look at the fuse for the condenser fan it shuold be probably a 30amp or a big one. Whenever you turn your AC on there should be another fan in the engine bay spinning all the time. Should be infront of the radiator near the consender/compressor

Well I am having fun Now! I pulled the fuse, i beleive it was position 45 and checked a few others, placed them all back and now the car will not turn over, just cranks and cranks. I did many searches and could not find an answer.
Can anybody help me Please?

Norwichdelta06- I did check the fuse and it is fine. I had been working on the no starting issue the last few days, now I will go back to condesor issue. I did talk to a local MB dealership yesterday and they say that the no air when standing at idle is a pressure issue, meaning not enough freon. I will try to by me a self filling bottle and empty it on the low side and see if that helps too.

i had a very similar problem.. i was hoping and praying it was the condenser fan as well..
the dealer changed it and i got a little bit cooler AC.. but not enough
they put the old fan back in and changed the compressor and it was the problem all along.. but definitely try the fan first.

Mine does the same thing, it doesn't get really cold unless I rev the engine and
which fires up the compressor. Yeh, likely needs a recharge.

Jagsy, did you figure out the starting issue yet? I would go back to where you were pulling fused and double check. I think you may have a fuse in the wrong location.

you dont fire up the compressor as in the AC compressor. Your techincally sucking in my air through the airintake which is passing by the condenser. Your problem is your condenser is not being cooled properly. You cleary have a working AC system just one that is not being cooled properly

i'm goin to shed some more light on this hope this helps. My sisters car had the same AC problem. The condenser fan was broken..had it replaced...and the issue was still there. So then we found out it was the radiator fan as well. Which was still spinning but not as fast as it should be. One i replaced the radiator fan everything was back to normal! Hope this helps. Remember the radiator fans has 3 speeds according to the temp of the car. It also cools the condenser as well.
