catalyst converter help!

hi

i need help whit something

what is the catalalyst converter in my c230 kompressor 2005 ?? the part next to the manifold ?

aparently my converter is clogged how replace??

A catalytic convertor is downstream of your exhaust header. Unless you have access to a car lift and a welder, you need to find a specialist.

A competent muffler shop will cut it out, and weld in a replacement unit. Expect to pay approximately 400 to 500 USD. Don't let the dealer do this. They will charge at least double.

how many cats do you have on your car ? I have the second cats from my CLK500.

Secondary cats won't work as primary cats.

Here's a picture of the catalytic converters. They are the big bulging things on the exhaust.

The wires going into them are the rear O2 sensors. You will have a similar set of wires in front of the cats as well.

The picture is from a V6 Kompressor, if you have a 4 banger, the cat looks similar, but chances are you'll only have one primary kitty.
