Disappearing clutch

I was driving my car 3 months ago and the clutch dropped down extremely low about a inch right at the bottom, I carried on driving I had to get home but then the clutch totally collapsed after 30 km (pedal wouldn't even rise). I towed the car home.

2 months later started the car up again for the first time since the indecent and there was clutch after I pumped the peddle it by hand. Enough clutch to do small trips at least I haven't been brave enough to go for a proper drive.

I need help on what to do should I change the clutch master seals, should I just give it a bleed or is there a deeper underlying issue here.

I should mention that the clutch has always been too soft for my liking but it was the first manual Merc I have driven so I thought it was normal.

Looking forward to your input.

You should rebuild both master & slave cylinder.
