So.. I'm driving normally, and all of a sudden I hear a crash on my left side.
BAM

I was fine, but not the others behind me. Turns out a big semi caused it![smash](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smashfreak.gif)
But I got full coverage, so i'll get it all fixed up

Damn, hope you are ok. Are there any more damages than the rear?

A pick-up hit me, not the semi. The semi hit a car that hit another car, that hit another car, that hit another car that didn't have anywhere to go except to hit me.
I drove the car back home just fine :o
You really think it's totaled? I thought it was just a "fender bender."
No airbags busted, and all my doors and trunk open perfectly.
Total of 5 cars involved.

if the damage underneath the sheet metal is extensive than its possible.

insurance company is going to low ball you. get it estimated by a good body shop. My insurance agent only quoted me 1500 but repairs are costing 3 times that.

Yeah call up your local dealer and have them either give you estimate or recommend a place. i didn't take my car to the dealer and regret it every day i see my cracked fog light. instead of giving me new bumper they glued in a new fog light because the mounts were broken and resprayed the bumper. then a few months ago the fog light cracked and now i can't fix it.

Dealer service centers are not the only ones capable of fantastic work, guys. State Farm recommended the body shop I have used on a couple of cars - including the C230 - and the work is with all OEM parts and 100% flawless.
With State Farm you can take it to a body shop they recommend and pay the body shop your deductible. Or you can take it have SF appraise it and they'll cut you a check for what they estimate and anything more is out of your pocket.

YOU do have a choice, the shop my ins recommends sucks monkey nuts. The place I go to does not, and there was a 2k diff in estimates between them, dont think you have to do what ins tells u, they have to pay for whatever shop you want within reason.

i dont know how they do it in GA, but in FL you can take a car to your place of choice, you arent held to an ins companys "recomended" shop. I use a shop that is more expensive but does the best work in town and my ins, and the people who have hit my cars, have had no issue paying for the work to be done there, they just adjust the values of the checks and pay it to them, and you always pay your deductable if its your fault to the repair shop, if not you wait for the final draw check to be sent to them (not at fault) and take your freshly fixed car.

I've been through this more times than I would like recently.
