Bring it to a body shop and see what they estimate. State Farm probably only does inspection on whats seen on the surface. The body shop will definitely know more.

Matt, that is true when they are your insurer, but there is a bit more flexibility when they are insuring the at-fault driver and you not their insured (especially if you are not their customer also). That being said, I've never had a problem with the shops they recommend in the few times I have had to deal with them.

Eh. I'm a member of PETA.. you know, the People Eating Tasty Animals one. I would not harm an animal (and certainly not deliberately hit one with the Benz) and don't condone animal abuse but animal rights activists (odd since animals don't have "rights") are pathetic, IMO. If they're not cute and cuddly, we should eat them. That's the whole point of being at the top of the food chain.
