2002 C230 Coupe
Passenger rear scraping sound
Hey guys I need some help. I have a c230 2002 coupe and right now the rear brake on the passenger side is making a scrapping noise only when I make right turns going above about 35-50kms I know that the disc brake is the one making the noise because I can see the marks being left on the brake rotor but because it only seems to make that sound when I turn I'm not sure what it could be do you guys have any idea?

Were the brakes ever touched? Maybe the rotor wasn't properly set, the screws aren't tightened at the same torque, your rotor is warped, or maybe even your dust cover is bent and is scraping against it.

2002 C230 Coupe
the brakes have not been changed for almost 2 years now, and the tires were changed last fall for winter, and have not been changed since because i plan to wear out my winter tires and get just new ones this season. its most certainly either a metal on metal or metal scrapping on something. and its only centralized on the rotor and the pad. you can physically see the scrapping on the front side of the rotor so im guessing its warped or a gravel got in or something. hopefully ill find out tomorrow at a shop if anyone has any more info that would be a life saver thanks again.

The wheel bearing might be developing play & allowing movement of the hub. From your symptoms it is not the handbrake mechanism which people often damage by using incorrect length lug bolts.
