A/C Compressor Dead
Hey Now,
Guys, the A/C on my 2002 C320 has stopped working. The Indy I use said I need a new compressor which costs approx. $1200. Can the A/C compressor's be rebuilt? Can you purchase a remanufactured or used one for less? The car has 130k miles now and hard to justify spending so much on a part and who knows how much more for the labor. Any feedback is appreciated.
Thanks!

Before you go rushing out & replacing the compressor have you checked that there is full refrigerant pressure in the system? Many Indy's don't know Benz a/c system well. There is a pressure switch in the circuit & if you loose the refrigerant the whole system shuts down to protect the compressor.
