Noisy engine while A/C is on?

'05 MBZ C230K and '09 MBZ C350
Noisy engine while A/C is on?
I've noticed that the engine runs louder/noisy when the A/C is on at full blast. When I turned off the A/C, the engine is quietier and normal level of noise.

Is that normal? or am I having a problem with the engine or A/C system?

With A/C on full blast the car sounds like a jet and this is normal.

Agreed ...It does sound like a jet. Mine has quite a bit of what i call "compressor whine" as well. I thought it was a bit much but dealer and indy shop say that is normal opreration.

Specially when very hot outside (100 degrees) and your AC in on auto.

Much of the noise is the condenser/radiator fan cranking up to high RPM
