W204 Rims Question...

I've seen some C300/C350's with the factory polished aluminum AMG spec rims on them.......

1.) Does anyone know what they're called?
2.) Size of the rims?
3.) If it fits a 2006 W203 Sport with BBK?
4.) Will I need spacers?

MRR GT1's have seriously got to go.............if anyone interested PM me for pics of the rims and prices...

Thanks!

Ah yes, thanks E!

Wow, looks like they're smaller than I expected.

Hey E, can you give me the info for the TSW Bremma's you had on the W203?

I think I'm leaning towards those instead.

I want to sell my MRR GT1's and get something easier to maintain.

Having mesh rims are a PITA!

Yes, wash the ****'s regularly before brake dust becomes a PITA to get off.

And don't spray the rims with too much hose pressure; the center caps will start to lose its paint!

lol, in order to get brake dust and grim off those rims, we have no choice but to use a hose with a lot of pressure because it's ridiculously hard to clean certain areas of the rim considering the fact that they're mesh

i've owned these wheels for a year now. they're nice, affordable and all, but maintaining and cleaning them is indeed a PITA!

Dude, my bremmas are in ROUGH shape, and they're 19's too

If maintenance is your issue, just get some Sonax wheel cleaner. Trust me it's the best stuff.

any 204 rims you'll need 15mm spacers front and rear to fit properly

I've had mine for almost 2 years. They look great, but I really miss having stockies or 5 spoke rims due to the ease in cleaning.

I'm NEVER buy mesh rims again; I didn't know they would be this much of a pain!

I have to call MRR to get a new set of center caps for my GT1's. The ones I have are so messed up, lol.

I'll have to look into that, thanks buddy!

BTW E, congrats on the new M3! She's gorgeous!

I can't wait until I can get my next new ride. The 203 is boring me to death, lol.

Spacers are a pain!

Thanks for all the input guys! You guys just saved me a lot of money, lol.

I think what I'm going to do is just send my MRR's to get refinished.

It's a cheaper solution; I'm sick of spending monies on my 5 year old car!

Rears are in perfect condition, thankfully.

Fronts do most of the work, so surface scratches on both, some nicks here and there, but luckily, no curb rash.

Front right rim has developed some weird "bubbling", almost looks like paint air bubbles of some sort......

They're not terribly bad, but I'm nit-picky as hell.

I called up my trusty wheel shop here in H-Town; dropping the car off on Monday, and should get it back on Wed!

How are you liking the M3? Are you babying it during the break-in period, or just putting foot to floor?

Ok, I have heard everyone talk about the Sonax wheel cleaner on here. This morning, looking at this thread I decided I would give it a try. I looked on their website and was lucky, there is a place close to my house that retails Sonax products.

I picked up a bottle this morning and washed the car. I am a convert! This is the best wheel cleaner I have ever used. The calipers are cleaner than I remember them being. I was just doing a quick wash, so I did not even scrub, just sprayed like the directions said. Plus, the turning red is really cool!

So do you spray it on first, then wash if off with water afterwards?

My calipers are also dirty as hell, lol.

Just got through break-in. I'm a believer of tough break in, but they are very specific about break-in on this car. Decided to keep it under 5k rpm's like they suggested. After it was done though, I've been driving it "briskly" and she loves to get up and GO. I'm all smiles!

Yeah, I've used a lot of other stuff, including P21S, my previous favorite. The Sonax works REALLY well, and needs little to no agitation to get a clean wheel. The ONLY thing is it smells funny.

Start with a cool wheel. Spray it on, it will be bright green. After a couple minutes, it'll turn dark red. This is the chemical change as it bonds to the metals and other stuff stuck on your wheel. Use a wet brush or towel to agitate the surface of the wheel a little if needed. You really don't need to scrub very hard, let the chemicals do thier job. Once you're done, spray off, your wheels should be super clean!

Both P21S and Sonax are fomulated to be as gentle on your wheel finish as possible and as agressive on the dirt, brake dust and other stuff on the wheel as possible. Even compared to the P21S gel, Sonax seems to stick better and do a better job of cleaning.

W204 wheels will bolt right on with 15mm spacers all around to get the offset right. Just use H&R spacers that are made differently for the front and rear and make sure your lug studs have a 39mm shank as to not damage the parking brake. No big deal. These are C63 wheels by the way.

So these C63 will need 15mm spacers to fit my C240, correct?
