anyone changed Fuel Filter on a C280 4Matic M272?

Hi,
I have a '07 C280 4Matic (M272). I wanted to replace the fuel filter. I bought a new fuel filter at autohaus. I went to replace the filter; raised the car and removed the long under panel. There is no fuel filter attached behind the fuel tank as suggested by some other member.

Anyone with 2006 or 2007 C280 4Matic (M272) changed their fuel filter?

On EPC, when I click on the fuel filter, it says "*** Item not valid for this model des." Does this mean that there is no fuel filter on this car? I can't imagine that. I tried to trace the fuel line. They all end up above the fuel tank.

MB recommends the Fuel Filter be changed at 39K miles. I am not sure if it was changed earlier; I bought the car around 5K miles ago. The car now has 60K miles.

Hence, I am trying to change as a preventive/scheduled maintenance.

UPDATE:
I spoke with MB dealer and confirmed that the Fuel Filter on my car is inside the fuel tank - integrated with the fuel level sending unit. The cost of the fuel filter is $250.

The lesson for other 2007 C280 4Matic owners - before you go ahead and buy the fuel filter from other on-line stores (they sell the regular canister type filter for this model year), give the VIN number and check with MB dealer first.
