Jerks when braking

Jerks when braking
Was driving home yesterday, when the car suddenly 'jerked' when I was braking. It continued to do this everytime I braked and the car was around 20mph. It'll jerk once per each time I slow down. Checked the brake fluid, brake pads (still with OEM pads/rotors). No CEL. Still happens with ESP off or on. Also happens even if I downshift the car to stop. Any ideas?

44K miles. Tranny fluid......where do you check/replace it from? Or is that something that requires the dealership?

What do you mean by "jerks"? Do you feel it in the steering wheel like the car wants to go to one side?

It feels like someone tapped on the brake really hard....kinda like 'brake checking someone!' Then after that split second, it rides normally until I try to slow down at the next traffic light. But it's weird because it only happens when decelerating and at ~20mph. Steering wheel is fine....no pulling. No noises. Started suddenly happening. yesterday.

I believe it is the trannsmission making multiple downshifts when coming to a stop, I had this problem, but when I did the 40k mile service this problem went away.

yea mine did that too and i changed the tranny fluid and its fine now.

If you are mechanically inclined I'd reccomend doing it yourself or be prepared from a big bill from a MB Dealer.
