need help please
i have a 2006 c350 sport, just bought it 3 months ago..
the problem i have at first is the car kinda jerks when gear changes from 3rd to 4th ( auto ), brought it to the dealer, they said the software needs updating, so they did, but the problem still there ( they called me when i wanted to pick up the car ). They said they replaced the valve body.
But after that, now during a cold start, the car will jerk just as soon as i hit the gas ( below 10mph). it just jerk once, after that it will drive normal. bring it back to the dealer and they said it has something to do with emission regulation ???
also, the gear changes is kinda weird, sometimes it changes itself during stop n go where its not supposed to change, makes me feel like a person who just learned to drive a stickshift. told dealer about it, they said just give it sometime to "adapt".
does anyone ever have this kind of problem?? do u think i need to reset the adaptation again, change the transmission fluid or maybe i have a transmission problem? can anyone recommend where else to go because the dealer seems to think i'm too fussy...
thanks in advance

It may just need more miles and drive cycles to more properly adapt.
The 722.9s I’ve driven have been almost imperceptible during shifts - smooth as could possibly be. They do sometimes seem a bit indecisive about which gear to select during near steady-state speeds with only minimal throttle pedal variations. That spiel about “emission regulation” is delayed upshift programming after a cold start to aid in lighting off the catalytic converters more quickly; it does not, however, cause undue abruptness. Rather telling that your new jerk didn’t occur before their repairs.
Since you’ve already paid the dealership to make things right, some background on the ETC’s adaptation process should you care to further discuss the situation with your Service Advisor:

so the morning jerk is normal then huh...well i guess i have to live with it...
about the shifting problem, you are suggesting to have the dealer reset the adaptation again right?? sorry this is my first benz, before that i drive hondas and mitsu n never have this kind of problem

I'm not recommending another reflash. I'm recommending you put on a few miles & see if the tranny settles down to your liking. The 7G is a very smooth transmission & I agree with splinter's comments 100%
One thing that I have always felt with the 7G is that you need to learn to drive smoothly & deliberately for the best performance. It does not like clumsy throttle inputs & drivers that yo-yo the throttle. This confuses it.
Drive decisively & you will get along far better.
