2005 Center Armrest Problems

2005 Center Armrest Problems
I have a 2005 c240 wagon. Someone borrowed my car yesterday and tried to open the center console by pushing in both side buttons simultaneously. The armrest lid came off and I have not been able to get it back on properly. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance for your input!

Thank you so much for all the help! Glyn, your link to "center arm rest issue" above describes my problem exactly and also how to pop the top back in place. One of the responses suggested taking it to the dealer . . . that they pop these back into place all the time and can do it in a minute or two. We are going to stop at the dealer today and see what happens.

2003 C 230 Problem removing Armrest lid only
I am also having this problem. Everyone talks about "side" buttons. I have two buttons facing the radio on my armrest. No buttons anywhere else. Have looked in my Haynes book - confusing. If you find how to take lid off, please let me know!! Thanks
