Thats not that bad. I did all 4 of mine for 90 dollars. I would say it would have been cheaper if i didn't keep going to autozone. 2 buy everything. I didn't sand mine though i stripped off all the paint down to bare metal. So it took me a while but they came out amazing

I'm not going to do it this weekend, because I can't be without my car for long, but I think the idea of having them completely re-sprayed gun-metal is awesome! And with the deal Phister hooked up, I just can't say no.

Here is a fun picture I took. I saw it while I was driving back from the plant, and couldn't wait to get to my hotel to take the picture. So without further ado.

My tripod is back in Dallas, but I did take a picture of me licking the star. As soon as iPhoto stops trying to control my life I'll upload it.

I wanted todo this in a very different way, but it is what it is. I traded my wonderful C240 today, and bought a 2997 C230 Sport! Love the car, but since it rained this morning, the dealer didn't get it washed today, and it's kinda nasty dusty. I'll clean her up tomorrow after work, and take some pictures to share.

Damn!! How much horsepower does the C230 come with in the year 2997?
I would've thought that after 900 years the engine would be bigger than a 2.3ltr
Haha, jk. Nice frozen star pic, love it

Seriously though, it's nice. It has some things that my C240 was definitely missing; Lumbar support, stiffer suspension, and the steering input is much improved (maybe that's the difference 95k in miles will make), but it's going to take a while to get used to the new cluster.
Here are some things that I'm not enjoying. The center console now just has a lid on top instead of the two tier lid that my C240 had, I'm really going to miss that. The cup holder (while vastly more accommodating of my morning Venti Two Raw Sugar Latte) has chrome chipping off of it, and sticks about half way up and has to be helped the rest of the way.
So the facts. Color I've been told it's Diamond Black metallic, but I'd call it dark blue if I were doing the write up. Has power memory driver seat, heated seats, standard radio (but there is a iPod cable in the glove compartment wired to who know where) Really not sure what more there is to it. You guys have seen a face-lift W203, so you know what it is.

Thanks Ward, I just couldn't pass up the deal. So let me tell you all the whole story. I left Longview, TX yesterday morning about 8am, drove to my house in Forney, TX and cleaned our a lot of stuff from my car. Then drove to Car Toys in Rockwall to have the stock radio put back in. Anyway, I didn't get to the dealership till 2:30 in the afternoon, and when I got there and took my first look at the car I was pretty happy. Then I started to look really critically at the car (my Daddy taught me good, don't get emotional). The tires were mis-matched! Of course I had an easy solution to that. I told them that I wanted the brand new tires that were on my C240 put on the new. We haggled and finally I got them to do it.
I finally left the dealership at 4:45, and on my way back to Forney (to see my wife and babies) I start hearing a noise from the front end. My first thought is that these A-holes didn't torque the wheels properly. So I slow down and finally get to an NTB near my house. Those guys were awesome (one of the mechanics also drives a 2007 C230!), and saw the problem right away. The retainer clips were missing that hold the bumper liner to the bumper, and the liners were rattling. One of them had rubbed the tire. As I said the guys at NTB were great. He told me what retainers I needed, and I went over to Autozone next door bought them, and then took it back to NTB and he put them in for free. Then I called and read the riot act to my salesman.
Without further ado...
Sorry for the dirty pic, I took it last night @2 am.
Finally figured out how to use the iPod cable that was in my glove box! Too bad it doesn't charge the iPhone.
