No hands... drift to one side
When I let go of the steering wheel, the car will track towards the right side and needs manual intervention after about 5 sec. Most roads are crowned in the middle so this drifting to the right may be attributed to that but it does it even on what appears to be a flat road surface. Note this is a gentle drift to the right... like I said it takes about 5 seconds before I need to steer left just a bit to correct it. Should I get an alignment? How long does your car track straight with no hands?

A fellow Candian eh?? :P
My car used to track straight despite the crown in the road for 2-3 minutes after which the bumps/irregularities in the road cause the steering wheel to turn which in turn causes the car to veer.
Definitely get an alignment if your car starts veering as soon as you let go of the steering wheel.
Im getting one too because I got all 4 front control arms changed recently.

Set the castor one degree more positive on the RHS than the driver's side. Typically 9.6 deg & 10.6 deg. This will stop running off to the right with the camber of the road.
You will need the fluted 3 way bolts in the castor bushes to achieve this.
MBSA have drummed this into every alighnment shop in SA.
