Got my ECU shipped to Powerchip. $115. Ouch.
FedEx can eat my $h!t on a plastic plate.
That said, I got my ECU out, and made sure to label all of the connectors.
Super easy to remove with a flat-head screwdriver.

P.S. If you're mailing your ECU in, don't forget to declare the value of your box.
I had to FedEx a computer back in 1999, and they lost it. Misery. Poor little PowerMac G3 never made it home.

He made me use the 8x8x8 box (which sells for about $10 on it's own) and then made me pay to re-bubblewrap the entire thing - after everything was said and done, it ended up being 2.2 lbs.
The guy was a complete d!ck.
The flip side is that, if the ECU gets lost or damaged during shipping, I will be guaranteed an amount to replace my ECU.

Called my local shop and the guy there quoted me $1300.
There is one on ebay now for $900, that is the same part as mine.

I think I'm going to go ahead with this, but I won't be able to be without the car for about two weeks from now. First, a few quick questions:
1. I thought the '03 230k sedan was rated at 189 hp, but Powerchip lists 253? Why the discrepency?
2. Would it be unreasonable to list the ECU with FedEx at $1650 ($1300 for the ecu itself and $350 for the flash)?
3. I'm mechanically handicapped. Is the ECU pull easy enough to do for someone that knows nothing about cars?

Not a problem. 
The group buy pricing lasts until the end of the month - and then goes back up. Keep that in mind.
I can't vouch for the C230K, but the C320 was a snap. I literally only needed a flat-head screwdriver, so I could easily push the clips back, to release the connectors from the ECU itself. Getting to the ECU was super easy. The flap over the wiring box had two clips that could be undone by hand. The wiring box lid had two clasps that were easy to open.
Easier than reprogramming a SATSCRAM terminal to divert a missile.

PM'd my contact info to ulovmybenzo and also contacted Powerchip but that was over a week ago and I haven't heard anyting back on how to proceed... Can anybody clue me in? I'd like to get in on this while the pricing is still good.
