Threw 2 codes yesterday, can anyone decipher???
code 1: P0128 - "coolant Temp below thermostat regulating temp"
WTF does that mean exactly? My engine is operating too cold? Is that possible.
code 2: P0600 - "serial communication link malfunction"
Again WTF, lol
I take it these arent related to all the work and CEL i was throwing for my vacuum leak that took MB 6 days to figure out. I was about to just take it back to them when the CEL tripped thinking it was related. Glad i bought that code reader before i got the call saying its not related and they want 180 for reading the new codes (although if i take to them to fix they'll probably still want to charge me to read it themselves)

The first code is possibly due to thermostat stuck open. When the thermostat gets stuck in open position, the coolant continues to circulate without allowing the coolant to get hot.
When the thermostat is operating normally, the thermostat stays closed until the coolant temp reaches 87 degrees (or preset temp of the thermostat). Once the coolant reaches the operating temp, thermostat opens and allows the coolant to circulate thru the cooling system.

ok im guessing the p0128 is simply a bad thermostat (i hope). I hope this is covered under my extended warranty. Although it would be the first thing they've covered lol...
Any ideas as to the p0600 serial malfunction thing?

First one is definetly thermostat.
The second one is most likely a temporary error. Try resetting the code and see if it comes back.
If you need instructions on how to change the Thermostat let me know. How many miles do you have? Maybe a good time to do a radiator flush if you haven't done so?
