its a euro unit...other than that it all should work. you proly need to buy us maps and maybe some STAR coding but that should theoretically be it...great price, best I've seen.

Thanks for the confirming info. I have seen European unit on the US MB before. But I was communicating with the seller and Comand.com.UK and both indicated that this unit is NOT working in North America. that's why I wasn't sure if I am doing the right thing.

There is always this thing:
http://www.caraudiocraze.com/navigat...prod_1521.html

I copped a double DIN faceplate:
http://www.beachaudio.com/Scosche/Mz2347b-p-120776.html

and am going with a Pioneer unit similar to this:

To each their own.

Although it is a good copy of the OEM unit, rather to install OEM part. Thanks though!

Thanks for the support! OEM is Always for me! If I can not afford to buy a new part, I'll buy a used OEM. I believe a used OEM is still better than the new None OEM!

by the way.. If you decide to buy it let us know the results and that would be great if you take some pics and do a DIY thread.

I did not buy that Euro Comand because I emailed Steve, and he advised that "It is, of course, possible to retrofit a Euro spec DVD comand in your 2005 C-class. However, unlike the pre 2005 203 comands this particular head unit will NOT be able to read the US navigation DVD. You would have to modify (as in hack) a US nav.DVD in order to make it function with the Euro DVD comand... but we can already tell you that this is definitely not easy. Not to mention the fact that an updated version needs to be modified again, which may be even more difficult." He actually mentioned that he previously offered Euro Comand, but he stopped that due to "there was just no easy way to get the nav.DVDs to work properly." for USA.

I'm glad I helped you out.

But you should have waited for the bid to end.. it was 649$ an no bidders... The was a huge chance to win it for a 100$ less. But it was still a great price.. American model and american shipped..

I couldn't take the risk of loosing it, some people get excited on ebay at bidding time and they go way higher. I've been looking for this deal from march. It was exact for my 2005 C Class like my car. there is a CLK model navigation system that is partially compatible with C Class, but the seller wants $950 for it off ebay. The only thing I am worried about is it says there are no returns.

Don't have to worry.. Usually electric parts are not returnable.. But if the item doesn't work then you can complain at ebay cuz it wouldnt meet the seller specs in the listing... Ebay will refund the money to you for sure!

You should also take a look at his feedbacks.. 100% positive and sells different navigation units for different cars.. I think he's trust able..

Anyway, let me know when you get it, its condition and if you can, please post pics at the installation time.

It is supposed to come after 4-8 business days. People have said the navigation system is plug-and-play. I will try my best to install and show pics.

FS: Comand Unit from 2006

Hello,

If anyone is interested, our 2006 C280 was an accident (sandwiched when rear ended and pushed into the car in front of us) and the insurance company totaled the car, I was able to pull all of my added accessories one of which was the comand unit and GPS antenna (installed by Steve in May of 2009). We've replaced the 2006 with a 2009, so I have no need for the head unit. I'd like to see it go to someone I know will get good use out of it. It also comes with the 2009-2010 US DVD (it is still installed in the unit). If you are interested, let me know and make an offer. If I don't hear from anyone in the next couple of days, I'll list it on ebay, but I'd just assume avoid the fees.

-Lance

I don't know if the GPS Antenna and DVD are compatible with the unit (A203 870 29 89) I purchased recently, if you know, please advise your asking price.

I am also looking to buy:
Mercedes-Benz OEM MHI Phone Kit 2005 C-Class

Thanks!

Wrap your interior in trim in CF and then wrap the DD unit in CF so it will look OEM!

I hate the wood interior that I have now. I wonder how much it would cost to replace all of the wood with the factory CF trim kit.

Theres no OEM CF trim on a W203. Just wrap it in the 3M di-noc CF. It's reaaly good stuff guy. Then you wrap the DD to match. It'll cost like ~$100 maybe more. Someone on here had the real deal CF trim it was custom stuff.
