Does anybody have a manual for the MB W203 C180 Kompressor, I know it is old but I deserve a second chance.

 

Hello, I live in Europe and I have a S203 (W203 but station wagon) C200 Kompressor. Can anybody help me with the service manual? Also the user manual. I have one in German but I'm not good with German. Also in the user manual doesn't say what quantity of oil I need to put in my Mercedes. They think probably a Mercedes owner should never touch the bonnet of the car.

A lot of the information in this thread is old, as the manuals are no longer available from the dealerships. Mostly you can get by between searching the forums and the internet, but if you are determined to get a manual, there are two ways I see:

If you search the internet for "W203 service manual", you'll see something like this:

The blue option is a massive 8000 page pdf download, with no table of contents. You can search the pdf, and the information is probably there, but imagine trying to find something in an 8000 page stack of papers.

The second option is the disks that have the WIS and parts lists for basically every mercedes in recent memory. These come in four zipped files on four disks, you copy them to your computer, and use a provided unzip utility to extract them to a directory. You also use virtual machine software (VMWare) to open the software, as it wasn't designed for more recent versions of Windows.
The caveats here are three-fold: 1) You'd better have a good amount of RAM, probably more than 4mb 2) You need a 64 bit operating system, and 3) if you've an older pc, even if it's got 64 bit processor, the software provided may not work, and you'll have to download (free) an older version from VMware.

The third option (Haynes) is better than nothing, but not nearly as good as the WIS. Haynes Law: "Any set of written instructions will include at least one significant omission or error."

I'd really like to find a genuine MB factory service manual that isn't a scam (all of the google indexed links appear to be scams). Any info would be appreciated.

 

I just spent 2 or 3 days figuring out how to install Hyper V on Windows 10 Home (not supposed to be possible, but I did it)
and created a Windows 7 32 bit virtual machine to run the Mercedes Benz w203 STAR Service Manual Library as
shown in pics from 2019. Anybody care? I could do a write up. It stopped working when I went to windows 10.
I'm able to save to pdf, share folders, print, and access the internet from the Win 7 VM.
I need it bad as I'm getting ready to do the head gasket finally!
So...anybody want to know how? PM me.

Any updates on the Maintenance Manuals?

 

The website doesn't work for the manuals but here's my query.
Both the 12v rear and cig. Lighters don't work. I found the fuse guide tucked in the left door fuse panel and tested/ replaced the 15a #47(cig.) and #12 rear fuse panel but no power to any with key off or on motor.
My question is: can I hard wire a solution with constant 12v to one or both...?
