Nice.

I had this bookmarked from last time I asked:
https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...ml#post3619507

But I didn't know if there were any special considerations with those specific wheels and my car.

Trini also told me I couldn't run a staggered setup, guess the only real way to find out is to try it out.

I'm actually interested in a similar set of wheels, just want something other than stock but definitely OEM with the Benz emblem in the middle. No aftermarket crap.

Let me know if you come across a place with decent prices on OEM rims.

the car you posted is not in the US. unless your buddy just send you the pic to show you what the wheels look like.

those are the AMG type-III 17x7.5 and 17x8.5 wheels. They were made standard on the US market CLK430 from 2000-2002 and the R170 SLK sport package from the same time. They will fit any W208, W203, R170, R171, and W209.

you can run staggered without any problem. The W204 and W212 4-matics all comes with staggered wheels setup on the sport package. the key is to keep the front and rear diameter within 3% of the original tire size the closer the better. i.e. 225/45/17 and 245/40/17

This. He wanted to give me some idea of what they'd look like on a w203, since I'm about 4.5 hours away.

If you get the right deal then go for it. Don't worry about the staggered comment. You can run staggered on a 4matic. C300 4matic comes staggered. As long as you don't run a 17 in front and 18 in rear you are fine. Width wont affect it. Many people run staggered on 4matic and they are fine.

Good luck

Edit:

Didn't see the corrections on the next page. Listen to Frank, he is a wheel expert. He went through 20 sets of wheels

I'm awfully partial to JL subs.

True story - my ex had ferrets. One day, I bought myself a fairly nice powered home theater sub. Not two hours after I had it set up, she had let her damn stinky rats out to play and they had pulled the cloth mesh off the sub, and eaten 3/4 of the cone out of the sub. Instead of making myself a brand new pair of ferret gloves, I went out to the nearest audio shop and got myself a JL component sub, same Ohms and impedance, and then wired it back together with the guts of the powered sub... along with an aluminum grill to keep the beasties out.

It booms... and has been working really well for the past 4 years.

That said, I'm ordering the Pioneer unit next month, though I think I linked the wrong one. There is a variation on that unit that has the Bluetooth built in. Anyway, I really like the front-facing USB, that doesn't require me to run a line out somewhere. Perfect for my phone.

My double DIN face plate and wiring harness already came in. Now I need to decide on subs and an amp. Subs will def. be JL's - it's a matter of which one (or ones).

I got an insane deal on the wheels so I'm also going up to CT next week to pick up them up - though I likely won't mount them until the spring since Winter is at our doorstep.

Oh wise and merciful Frank, can I use the lug bolts that came with my car, or do I need to get different ones?

(btw Frank, you are the Hitchhiker's Guide to MB wheels. Pure awesome. Thanks for all the help thus far)

if you pick up the 17" from your buddy then you should be able to use your stock bolts. test it out to be sure.
