Getting my 2002 C230 Sport Coupe back tomorrow. I am going to top off the rear differential, clean it, and see how long it lasts before/if it leaks.
sooooo... I want to tighten/check the bolts on the pumpkin just in case they backed off, or need to be tightened.
So without having the car....
What are they? 10mm or 12mm bolts I imagine, or something else?
What is the torque spec? I imagine it would be bad to just 'tighten' them for the heck of it. Also, I imagine it would be best to do an 'alternating' pattern and not just go around in a circle (never good for gasket/seal).
Any other tips/advice? I already have a 14mm hex on order to check the fill hole!

14MM Hex Bolt is what is used to remove both bolts.
If your going to do that you might as well just change the fluid.
Im to lazy to look in my book right now for tq rating. Garage feels like its so far away
Right Right. and I have the fluid guide.
However, I want the torque specs for the differential itself, not just the fill/drain plugs, if some one has them.

According to MB, the rear diff level was fine, and the left side is leaking slightly, and that I shouldn't be worried about it making the level low. I think I will monitor it monthly until I am convinced otherwise, but yay! =)
