Quick question guys...is it normal to have an extra O-ring left over when changing the oil filter. I replace 4, but the filter always comes with 5. Am I missing one somewhere?

Yup, it's normal. I believe my car only uses 3, one big one and two small ones.

These filter "kits" are generic and fit several MB models. The number of o-rings you need depends on the model of the car. The filter dimensions are exactly the same for several cars. The "stem" is different with different number of o-rings.

Every time i did my oil changes and oil filter it came with the same amount of o rings needed. I never had any extras.

What filter did you buy?
