SRS light and Smog inspection in CA????
I have a 2003 c230, my registration is up and I have to get a smog. My SRS light has been on for quite sometime because of that damn sensor in the passenger seat. I think its the child restraint sensor. Anyway, will I be able to pass the smog with that light on? I know if the Check Engine light is on it wont pass but thats not the case. Its just the SRS light and visit dealer light.

So it will pass
I don't think their scanner checks body codes
that is unless you have cleared a cel or disconnected the battery.
Then it will fail if the i/m status is not ready.
Some states have safety inspections and srs would fail.
California would pass it without brakes as long as it ran clean

I just did my SMOG last week and I had the SRS Light on too ever since I got my car. I definitely passed. They said they don't really test or look at those. It has nothing to do with emission test at all
