Cruise doesn't work at all???

I few C32 owners (myself included) have a problem with a non-responsive cruise. The cruise control doesn't work at all at any speed. No lights come on in the instrument cluster or anything. No fuses are blown either. Has anyone else had a similar problem in their w203? Any idea what the cause or fix may be?

THE C350
Twice on the same road about the same distance into the trip a year apart between Atlanta and Birmingham my cruse control stooped working. I would cut it off because of traffic and then try to reset it and it would not engage. Once i cut the car off and back on it would be fine tough. Because of this i did some research and it seems that the only two things i had heard that fail in the system are the lever to engage it would go bad or the controller or whatever it is called that controls the throttle. Wish i could be more help but without star i doubt you could figure it out without throwing parts at the issue.

Likely the output speed sensor has failed on the transmission.

Is this a fairly common problem? Any way to test the output sensor to see if it works?

You need a Star - I would normally expect an ESP code but I've seen this happen without one.

Not common.

Might be a dumb question but are you sure you don't have traction control off when this is happening? CC won't work with it off.

No, I rarely turn the traction control off.

I guess I need to look around and see if someone in the Jacksonville area has a Star diagnostic system. I suspect it is the cruise control switch/lever, but that is just a guess.

Yes - it might be the switch but it is generally a switch that does not work that hard. Turning off the traction control cuts data from the speed sensor.
