I'm not sure what tags you better: parasite or creeper, what do you think? When you're in your little "attack" mode (I haven't quite pinpointed the characteristic trigger just yet, but Im close) , you like to pick on a statement of mine that wasn't worded quite ideally and exploit it. I'm kinda leaning towards creeper, by the way.

So, on to the most amazing question at hand!

Welllllllll e10000000000, I haven't come across any sort of scientific or even a formal experiment comparing w203 projector headlamps for a matter of fact, so you're right, it hasn't been proven! The results although have been assessed and compared by at least a couple of the board's "HID" gurus, and their subsequent subjective conclusions have been that the s2k lense retrofitted takes the cake. I've decided to take their word for it since Im pretty good at reading and looking at pretty pictures to see for myself.

Any other questions? I'm more than happy to answer!

Hey I'm just wondering since none of my replies seem to be sufficient for you either. More silly names, got to hand it to you, at least you're creative.

If you're looking for a pattern, I really post whenever my heart desires.

Your heart desires to stir the pot.

So since you were sincerely wondering, let me ask you what kind of response you wished? A published article that reviewed the efficacy of Mike's one and only s2k sonar retrofit vs say a stock Bi-X? Or perhaps some tech info on each of the projector lenses? Just let me know, I'll see what I can dig out for you friend. Why bother asking me for information though, I was under the impression that you didnt value what I had to say? I apologize, I'm just thinking back to the thread where you ridiculed me, and told me that I was not at any place to be able to understand some information you electively held from me? I only bring it up because this was only but a few days ago if memory serves me correct. Just trying to remember the facts here.

Wait, so, you've never seen any of the pictures in Mike's threads about his s2k retrofit? You really should check them out, perhaps you can decide for yourself as to which headlamp available has the best cut off, spread, all that. I think you'll find that you agree. But maybe not? Because I could've sworn that you also had an arguement with Mike about retrofiting higher quality projector lenses... ah-ha! that's why I thought you were being sarcastic! Is because you had an arguement with Mike about his headlights! Maybe even the very ones I purchased? Im not sure.

Anyway, I guess I had you pegged all wrong.

Don't worry, Karo chimed in for you with his own names They weren't quite as clever, and a little more obscene. Weird he didn't get an infraction for it like I just did, eh? Wait, you and the Moderator who gave me the infraction, nlp, are friends, right?

Oh, so you're a moderator now and you can tell who gets infractions or not, right? Last time I checked, infractions weren't viewable to members. I may or may not have already given them infractions, friends or not.

I gave you ALL a warning already, yet you continue to press on like I never said anything.

This is your last warning.

I wish to not continue on with the senseless banter, I also would like for Eric to get off my back. Considering our recent e-arguements, if he wishes to address me, he should probably make it clear that he isn't antagonizing me with whatever comment or sarcastic question he has in store.

Eric, I'm done, so cut it out.

EDIT: Nlp, you're right, I made an assumption re: Karo. Somehow you may be able to understand my recent feeling of alienation that prompted it.

Now, I'm going to post as a member of the w203 forum who has been here since 2002, has had my car NEW since 2004, has seen ALL the mods that have been done to the car and have seen or had different HID setups.

"HID gurus", you forget that as much as you would like to deny the fact, e1000 is one of them. He has not only helped me and other members on HID's on our w203's but also on other cars, such as my gf's Cayman S, another forum member's E46 M3, my M5, another forum member's E55, that person's friend's E350, another person's C300, his C350 which has HID everything and his M3.

As a result, his question was fair. Who are you to say, with subjective opinions and all, that the retrofitted BI-X ARE better? How are they better? They look nicer when you pull up to a wall? How people take pictures of them at night? The quality? How they're still sealed from the factory? What? HOW WERE THEY PROVEN TO BE BETTER?

You said that I know it well, but I'm sorry, I don't care as much. I got my car with BI-X stock.

This is another testament of you being a self-righteous know-it-all.

P.S. You've told everyone how smart and inquisitive you are being a dental student, but there's other people here such as myself who have degrees in engineering as well as doctorate degrees in other fields who don't believe all the purty pictures on the Internet and would rather attest to real life results and usage.

My limited experience with Mercedes in general should be well known by now. I know what I read. If you all disagreed with several conclusions that the s2k retrofit, performed with care by someone with experience, was not a top choice, then why wait until the-little-ignorant-boy-who-misunderstood mentions it in no more than a sentence or two of his entire thread?
Factory sealed? No. Sealed by Mike? Yep. Quality? Have you held seen researched the materials and construction into the aftermarket housing to do a legit comparo? The dust caps are heavier duty on the MB piece, sure. Am I going to pay for a set of OEM Bi-X when I can get a set for half that, which have been praised time and time again for all the positive qualities in regards to the operation of the lighting in general? Yes.

I'll go back and edit my statement right now.

"...[parts that have] "proven TO ME to be better"
Look, all of this could have been avoided with two additonal words.
Youre right, my bad dudes.

BTW, I only use the DDS thing as a way to explain my inquisitve nature. In regards to usage and results, in the instance of the lights, I was basing my conclusions from the usage and results of others, as I've never owned a set of projectors. The KC culture doesnt support hoards of european luxury car enthusiasts. Don't remember you all disagreeing in any of the threads in question that I read, btw.

How funny, you were crying about someone calling you names and said that you would stop and now look what you do.

I don't follow your thread very carefully. I saw you posting trash and decided to take care of it. Do you really think I care if you mess your car up? Ha. It appears that you already know everything about it, so there's no point in even discussing issues with you.

Dad drives a '10 Z06
Mom drives a '08 Z06
Both 6 spds. Both go 0-80 in what feels like 3 seconds
Talk about knowing what torque is. (Matt!)

While the ride is rough, I don't know how the engine and transmission can get anymore refined, IMO, in those vehices. Particularly his '10.

She lets NO ONE drive that car. My dad had an '07 or '08 C6 before his Z and an... either '05 or '06 SSR w/ LS2 and 6 sp before that (which obviously held nothing to her Z) and she would not so much as let him move her car into the garage! Still wont! She's the crazy 50 year old blonde chick smoking the tires down the hwy on ramp. Before this, she had an 2000 Camaro SS that I installed a GM hotcam, headers, and a SLP loudmouth exhaust on (and too many other little things like in teh valvetrain to mention)... so basically a cam designed to add a little power but mostly nasty nasty lopey gnarl, the loudmouth was a cat-back (without any cats) w/ nothing but a single resonator, no muffler. She absoloutely LOVED it. My dad was embarassed to ride with her because it was so loud. She cried when she traded it for the Corvette. She's a one of a kind momma!

The s2000 projectors in terms of brightness, color, and beam width is completely superior then the oem bixenons. This isn't a if or maybe, is a complete fact. Just do your research on hidplanet.com and you will come to the same conclusion.

I've done 5 personal hid retrofits for various cars, gf's and friends. As far as i know i'm the only one that have wrote the 3 existing diy hid retrofit threads on this forum in terms of the w203, so i think i qualify as a HID guru.

When i mean retrofit, I mean i installed a real HID projector into a head light that did not have one. I don't mean installing ballasts, which anyone who has enough electrical knowledge to use wire taps can do.

I also used oem head light sealant, the same material that mercedes, infinite and honda use, only difference is Nissan actually sells it to the public, the rest of the manufacturers do not.

Look on my for sale thread, there was even a member who owned a retrofitted s2k's, then a 2003 7 series and now a 05 e55. He still said the s2k is superior.

I don't know the above forum member personally or via forum, he was just someone that just chimed in and have experience the same results i have.

As for e1000, there is no doubt he as contributed to the forum and is a knowledgeable person.

There some things i disagree with him on and i just leave it we agree to disagree.

Cpbeasley and e1000 can continue to argue, thats on the them. But at the same time your a moderator and should be a little more neutral in nature.

You seem flame people that disagree with your friends or personally attack them. In more extreme cases you threaten people with warnings or infractions just because they disagree or argue with your friends on the forum.

It completely shows how bias you are as a moderator and gives off a impression of nepotism to other forum members.

On other forums i have been on, the moderator was always someone that more of a mediator between arguing members and more of a neutral party.

I think the only real way to explain it to you is just ride in a e55 or any other AMG.

The tq is there not as apparent as a american v8 but it can still pull you back to your seat. Then when the rpms claim you notice you don't think your going fast, when your really going 100mph and the shifts are pretty smooth.

As i get older and get over the idea of high HP, i tend to appreciate the power delivery more, since you can't really use all the hp on the street.

For a daily driver, i would prefer your w203 over the corvettes. But as a weekend car or track car, then yeah the corvettes going to win hands down.

But for the track, my love is still with japanese engines.

Anyways, keep experimenting. Just because it doesn't look good on paper doesn't mean there's no real world benefit. There's definitly a place in the world for people who think outside of the box.

Give me a break. Really? You're going to tell me what to do? I'm a member just like everyone else and I'm not going to hold my thoughts on things such as this. You really know how to moderate don't you? You know everything!

You and I have had our words as well in the past. You and Beasley have a lot in common. Both of you are self-righteous know-it-alls. Not surprising that you should chime in here. Well, I guess there is some self-interest, he is defending your product. So are you now a vendor of HID retrofit lights?

As for nepotism, read what I wrote to Beasley, are you a moderator? Do you know who got infractions on this thread? I told everyone to cool it, including people that you perceive to be my friends.

P.S. Thanks for your response regarding the retrofit and thanks for your contributions. They look great in pictures. Except the headlight itself, I prefer the look of the headlight of the OEM's, but that's subjective. I'd prefer having an OEM unit rather than worrying about a retrofit (what it'll do to the electrical system and/or what will happen if it's impacted). How long will it last? Does the retrofit require the Xenon-Present coding? Do you have to remove the headlight completely to change the bulb? It's issues like that that question its superiority.

Don't involve me in this...you don't know if I got an infraction or not. Karo didn't chime in for Eric. Karo chimed in because I told you the dipstick isn't accurate and you questioned me. That's why Karo chimed in. Karo chimed in because he couldn't take you always questioning members and getting owned. Have you noticed when you get proven wrong (owned) your excuse is "it's just for fun"? Have you noticed that?

He is a complete *******. I swear if he was in front of me I would have showed him what a real dentist can do. He told me if I wasn't too far up Eric's a$$ I would have already turboed my car . But the ignorant mother f*cker doesn't know I have every part needed to turbo an M272 and I have all the info down as well.

I would have let it go but for him to make a comment like that he is going to be my biatch on this forum. Don't pick up the soap Cale!!! Cause i'll be waiting for you

Again for the record I got an infraction too.

lol Nope, I didn't claim to be a know it all. If that's what you inferred from my previous post, then i'm clarifying it now. No i do not claim to be a know it all.

To answer your hid vendor question, no I am not a hid vendor, I do not charge for my services or advice.

I have done a few hids retrofits for people i personally know for free and have given hid advice to others on the forum that have asked me.

My personal opinion on a moderator is someone that is a good mediator can diffuse arguments between forum members and act more like neutral party, like a ref at football game. You can simply state that you disagree on that.

Because you obviously do not believe in that or you would show it in the way you conduct yourself on the forums.

To answer your hid questions. I chose the sonar head light mainly because the lens is completely clear vs the oem head light cover which has glare lines that kills much of the color you see at the cut off of the light. Thats what the glare lines were specifically designed to do if your wondering.

In terms of looks, its all subjective so i leave that open. I've had the head lights almost 2yrs without any problems.

To answer your other question, no recoding is necessary if your car came with hids. OEM head lights use philips d2s bulbs and so does my retrofit.

No impact on the electrical system since your reusing your oem ballasts.

It would be a direct swap and plug and play. The bulbs can be replaced while on the car since the position of the projector is in the same stock location as the original projector that came with the head light.

If the car did not come with hids, then the user would need at least aftermarket 55watt hid ballasts so you don't receive the light error.

On my personal car, i used a separate hid harness to run the ballasts. People on the forum have disagreed with me and said the oem harness can handle the aftermarket hids. Given much of the consensus data on the forums stating that fact, i have disengaged from recommending a separate harness.

This is what we did with mugenx's car. He has aftermarket 55watt hid ballasts hooked up to his h7 harness without any problem or light errors.

I have personally tested the same h7 harness setup on another forum members c32 to my sonars before i sent it to cpbeasly, to make sure everything worked correctly before i shipped it to him. May I add, that c32 member also had the oem bixenons and my s2000 retro completely out shined it. It was withness by two other forum members.

Other forum members independent of me have done the same without any problems.

My theory is that the newer aftermarket ballasts tend to draw less amps then they use to in the past at start up, so they don't have a negative effect on the oem electrical system.

If you want to find out more about s2000 projectors, I would suggest going to hidplanet.com forum section and do search of s2k vs e55 and there is a lot of information and pictures there.

I hope this answers all your hids questions.

After reading Phil's post I kind of understand what he means. Or I may interpret it differently. But this is how I feel.

Better is a hard definition.

Bottom line the retrofit headlights especially in different headlight housing looks straight up trash. Straight up trash in a way where if you put it on your car it might drop the value down 2k. Straight up trash in a way where you might as well put pepboys hub cap spinners because nice wheels will still make you car not look good.

Then there are OEM BIX where maybe the light output might not be great but it looks OEM and looks sick. But you might crash into a tree.

So the definition for better is different from member to member.

I personally rather have bad light output that retrofit and have my headlight look like crap.

A Z06 only comes in manual though, so the driver controls how smooth the power delivery is (or isn't). I will say though, I do hate the power delivery of an automatic Corvette (which I wouldn't even consider buying even if the power delivery were perfect).

I'm with Phil on retrofit VS OEM. My HID kit works just fine in practice while preserving the stock look. Ideally, my car would've had OEM Bi-X. I'd never retrofit projectors into different housings because it simply never looks right. Then again, neither do in-grille stars on W203s that end up looking cross-eyed. It's all subjective.

Matt isn't concerned with the possibility of ever driving his C350 because I'll never be in that part of the country. Cale simply doesn't get under my skin.. A lot of other people do on here that others get along with just fine.

I like all of you, from Phil to Eric and Karo to Cale - no bad blood here in what I'm about to say. I've been following this thread and it does seem like Cale is being increasingly antagonized.

You know I'm gonna be honest here Matt. I do admit sometimes I get out of hand and I may seem like I am this tuff guy or something but all those guys that met me at meets and such know that I have a soft heart. Sometimes (speaking for myself here) we tend to get so caught up and we start bashing people and we tend to forget that those people have feelings. We tend to forget that each and every one of us impact each others future. By me saying stuff to Cale I might have changed his day in a negative way and I apologize if I did. Sometimes I get carried away and go off but the people that know me know that "whenever you call me I'll be there".

The last thing I wanna do is impact someone's future in a negative way. Cale you butthead I apologize if I hurt your feelings.

Matt my comment was a joke. I know how much you love stick shift lool so I was joking around that you want to go test out the C350 6MT.

But I stand by my comment that a retrofit in a weird headlight housing makes the car look like straight up trash.
