Makes you wonder.

I noticed it.

To me, I think I may read it a little differently....

"[despite the gear change, the increase in power over the last SLK we drove.... (referring to pre-M014 performance package) ...will still accelerate the new more powerful slk .3 seconds faster than the older underpowerd slk350 regardless of the taller gear ratio]"

wordy, but trying to get my point across. they old one they test drove was basically the same 350 as I have. 268hp, 6500rpm redline, but w/ 3.27 gears
they test drove the 305hp version. i'd hope itd be faster at almost a 40hp increase.
despite whatever the taller gear ratio is, and with an automatic, it still showed to be a little faster.

after installing Mike's retro s2k projectors today I put the car up the air on dad's lift and decided to check out the rear diff and compare it to the one i bought myself.

the only detectable differences was the new case being a hair skinnier, and the rear cover design. otherwise everything was the same. Im going to do some more research, see if my axle shafts would still bolt up despite the slight difference, and if not, look into retrofitting c230 axle shafts. the prop flange is also smaller on the new diff but i can transfer mine over. same goes for rear cover. funny, the PN on my diff housing was not even close to what EPC said it was. the saga continues...

workng on getting a picture of the lights uploaded, which look awesome! the black housings are a nice accent to the grilles, gives the front end some depth.
the output is crazy, solid light spread right up to the beautiful cut off line, sharp as a scalpel, and color separation is like a rainbow at cutoff. i get to see it everytime i pull up behind a car. I have the 4300k bulbs Mike gave me.

anyway, here's some other random pics.
OEM amg spoiler is painted, heres a pic of it in the paint oven right before it got sprayed.
free nike golf hat that came with spoiler since it was shipped late
and shot of 94 octane at a philips statiion back home when i went to see my parents. hadnt ever seen it before. me car likey.

The bulbs i sent you are the oem philips 4300k bulbs. If you want more blue at the cut off, you can switch to the aftermarket 5000k bulbs, but there will be a noticeable amount of light lost switching from 4300k philips bulbs to chinese 5000k bulbs.

The 5000k bulbs should be fine, but i didn't notice the considerable difference in light until i set them beam next to each other and the 4300k was literally out shining the 5000k bulbs.

I love the 4300k bulbs. So bright, theres enough blue at cut off as is, and again the color separation is just brilliant!

I'm sure we will easily pass 4bucks a gallon easily in a month. I remember back in 2004 when I got back from the hospital gas went up to 2 bucks a gallon and people were trying to boycott 76 for a week. Then boycott Chevron for a week and so on. I just filled up today at 3.69.

The biggest BS is in my area 87 is $3.29, 89 is $3.39 and 91 is $3.69

Here's a quick guide in aiming the head lights. Basically at 25ft away, the bottom half of the Z line should be perpendicular with the center of the projector lens. Assuming a perfectly flat road surface.

Hey Cale, for all your questions on the programming for the rear diff hit up Eurocharged. I spoke with Jake and the guys is very cool. They turbocharged a C32 engine, did a E55k engine swap on the w203 and also they turbo charged a w204 350. Those guys really know what they are doing.

4300k lamps are the answer. People forget the sensitivity of the human eye - you do not want to be too blue. Up at 6000K & above the perceived light fall-off is huge.

Yeah, the crisis in Egypt doesn't help one bit either. Barrel of oil is going up. If the Suez Canal is to close, Americans might actually have to start walking and getting some exercise..
It's doubtful, though.

$3.69 for 91? Doesn't sound bad to me.. Few weeks ago it was $3.9x for 91 about a few blocks from me. I don't bother checking anymore.

Arco still has some good prices around me.

Arco has sick prices but I don't remember who told me to stay away from them

Here in Burbank we have Costco and sometimes when my parents go to a wedding or something I let them take my car. The next morning my pops fills up from Costco. I heard costco gas is crap but ohh well lol

I think it's something about the additives that they put in are said to be of low quality and sometimes contain a high sulfur content. Not sure how true that is but I rarely fill up with them nowadays. Pretty sure ARCO supplies Shell as well, so I stay away from them too.
Chevron with Techron seems like the best bet.

it's probably cheap, though! got to love costco gas lol

My car runs great with Sam's gas, and it's a lot cheaper down here. Of course gas out here in East Texas is .20 or more than in Dallas. I've been running Techron every 4th tank, and it seems to be making a difference.

Cheap gas won't even help get me anywhere in the blizzard we're under now
guys seen the weather? Im smack dab in the middle of that snowmaggedon radar cloud.

We don't have Chevron anywhere near here. BPs 93 is as good as it gets. That 94 was from a Phillips 44 that used to be a BP. Conoco RULES the midwest.

I haven't had a problem w/ Sam's in the past.

sb.leg - Wheels are waiting in my 'rents garage 3 hours away from here for the summer to arrive This winter has been hell, Im glad i didnt jump the gun.

Glyn - I'll try you again later today. Didnt get your email til after I was down for the count.
How exactly do you read that graph? What's the y-axis: sensitivity stand for? sensitivity to what?

LOL, I feel ya Cale. Today we have a low of -14 degrees! I'm scared to drive to school so I think I'm going to put on all my snowboarding gear and take the bus.

edit: just checked the weather, high of -11 and low of -29!
